Diazepam or midazolam?  Big Valium fan for years but midz have been getting my attention.... how different are they as far as anxiety relief?

So I’m really trying to compare these, I can’t find the midz tho, maybe a vacation....

Over the course of my lifelong struggle with crippling anxiety, insomnia and depression, I have tried everything. Valium is a much different feeling benzo than midazolam. Valium is good for general anxiety and stuff, it doesn’t wipe out anxiety and panic. It absolutely calmes things down but it has a less targeted feeling than midazolam. Like after I would take Valium I would feel calmer but the anxiety would still be there. It would still be noticeable. Taking more Valium wouldn’t kill the anxiety more but would just give a heavy feeling, a more weighed down feeling but still no eradication of the anxiety. And Valium doesn’t help me sleep no matter how much I had used at certain points. Midazolam is different. It’s extremely potent and obliterates anxiety and absolutely puts you to sleep. It’s a bedtime benzo. You can’t really use it during the day. Very short acting and very potent. It wipes away anxiety and next thing you know, you are waking up from sleep. I have fallen asleep in the bathroom when I took either flormidal or dormicum and had to use the bathroom before bed. I mean if you are looking for daytime relief of panic and anxiety, look into klonopin or Xanax extended release. Those will target the anxiety and really get rid of the anxiety without the heavy crappy feeling. Dormicum/flormidal is great for bedtime but of course tolerance builds to it too and you will find yourself upping the midazolam dose pretty quickly to get the knockout effect. I’m a cursed person. I have had the most crippling anxiety, panic disorder and insomnia for my whole adult life and it’s ruined my life. I truly wish I never had to take any benzos. They have ruined me too. I wish you the best and hope you never become dependent on these things. They are all evil and very difficult to stop. I beg you to be careful and see if any other medicines help you before you go down this benzo path. If any of the other meds help you, definitely go that route before you go down the benzo route.

they are very different benzos Midazolams half life very very short you can black out on it an wake up sober in a couple hours Valium has very long half life but is kind of weak imo i would mix a little of both together

I have been on benzo's for so long that Ambien doesn't make me feel a thing, 4mg of Klonopin..nada. 4mg of Xanax will help and then I add Gabapentin or Benadryl but I have a high metabolism and if I don't eat before I go to sleep I'm awake 4 hours later as opposed to 6 hours. This "combo" I take also makes me feel relaxed and I actually focus better so I keep going until I fall asleep at my desk all the time when working from home, My whole family will be like Go TO BED, I've given myself a black eye..But I've recently had a Ramen Noodle incident...Just glad it had cooled off LOL

First I want to say I'm sorry for everything you've been through. I didn't realize it was anxiety ..but when you have an ulcer in the 4th grade. But life at home wasn't exactly 'relaxing' a Father with a wicked temper screaming, throwing things and beating on my older brother. When my turn came I punched back so that was the end of that. (and I'm the girl) Anyway I was put on Benzo's at 17 because they thought I was anorexic, At 17 food was my last thought. It was WORK, Save UP to move out, grab a Mt. Dew and A Candy bar. I hated sitting still. But after a bad accident when I went off Vicodin, Klonopin was a relief. And for 15 years I've been on the same dose..from my doctor. All it does is keep me from having seizures, no appetite and possibly a stroke because even BP meds don't always work. I've had doctors forget to call it in and leave for a week...so many stories I could tell. I want to write a Book: Klonopin..My Boss, My World Revolves around making sure I have it. If I didn't "add to my stash" I'd be looking at the calender to see when I could go camping because I might need my Klonopin refill. I can imagine some of what you've been through and you are absolutely right, If a Benzo can be Avoided, RUN. Take a Benadryl. I Agree to ALL Please try anything but a benzo. Best Wishes to you!

  6. Mom&PopShop @ Mom&PopShop: I'm trying to remember what the texture was like.. I know it came in a pouch like chewing tobacco. I remember it being cut up in strips like shredded chewing tobacco too, was that the case???

  12. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Don’t message people about things like veterinary care without taking care to mind the rules you two crazy nuts. More at stake than getting bad info or scammed, there’s predators out there looking for bigger fish and will step on a guppy to get to them. Fishing expeditions aren’t just for private citizens enjoying a calm weekend exploring the lake for a fish hookup. Offish of offishial fishing investigations may be looking for the best fishing hole and scare off the big
