A Montana man named Walter Jack White, 53, was sentenced on Monday to nine years in federal prison for “possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.â€

The judge added three years to his sentence for a firearms conviction, making his term a total of 12 years behind bars.

Oh man, that story makes me soooo fuckin mad. Its so absurd. Some little rich fuck has 3x the legal limit of booze, and Valium in his system, kills 4 people while drunk driving.. and gets probation?

Sadly, this isn't going to change in our lifetimes. The reality is, the prison industrial complex throws off billions each year to some of the deepest pockets and political contributors on both sides of the legislative aisle. The harsh truth is that the system is structured in concert with Orwellian US drug laws, and is designed to maximize prison populations with young male "offenders" who are least able to mount a legal defense. It's a simple matter of return on judiciary investment where prosecutions are concerned. For the cost of obtaining a conviction against a kid from a wealthy family, the same prosecutor can plea out 2 dozen petty drug cases involving young, poor, inner city male defendants who have nothing more than a public defender and the prospect of a 20+ year hitch for "possession with intent".

Consider this. The prison population in the United States has grown by more than 700% since 1970, and of that inmate population growth, more than 60% are African-American males sentenced on non-violent drug related charges. In my view, it's Slavery 2.0, human trafficking at the institutional level, and one of the United States' dirtiest, most vile and least discussed secrets.

Small example.

Years ago my friend and I needed gas so I could drive him home one night after partying, so we started to siphon gas at some apartments.

We got caught.

It was my car.

After an hour or so, I was told to drive home and my friend was taken to the cop shop and his parents were called to come get him.

He got some awful community service thing in the animal shelter and it was dealing with the worst part of govt shelters. Cleaning poop would be better.

I got probation or something, I don't even remember as it was so minor.

My friend was from a "bad" part of the town and the cops made assumptions and he got much worse then I who had an address in a better area.

There is no question they saw he and his family would not be able to quickly pay their way out of their messed up injustice system and all the programs and other services they keep people trapped in, and they look for people like that to keep these messsed up systems going and full of people who really don't need to be in them. It's a rackett.

1) you can have sex with the female guards if you are decent looking and are "cleared" by medical.

2) If you have money you can get whatever you want...drugs..whatever...cell phone.

3) When you buy food from the "store" it is marked up 300% or more from what you would pay at Walmart.

and you can stay up to 5years in county Jail in FL waiting to go to trial...I was locked up with a cat that sat 4yrs 10 months and they dropped his charges. WTF?

If you have a private Lawyer vrs a Public Pretender you can get a whole different legal system. I should have spent 30yrs for my crime. It was a 1st degree felony with aggravating circumstances...What I did was on HD camera and 35+ witnesses.

Make no mistake the prison system in FL is a money making business... Thats why a few have gone private.

Aside from the length of time a defendant can remain in county facilities pending trial, which does vary by state, everything that 99 says absolutely applies to the prison system in general in every state in the country, with few exceptions. The "commissary", or "stores", are just one of many perks of the job of country sheriff, and in most counties across America, mine included, the sheriff retains all profits from the commissary, not to mention a cut of tax warrant collection, etc. Our county sheriff (Top 30 major metropolitan area) made in excess of $200K in 2011 per public record data, just from commissary sales alone, and more than $600K in total compensation. It's one of the most lucrative elected positions out there, and one of the most corrupt, for obvious reasons.

And most importantly, 99 hit the bull's eye on the public defender issue. If you ever contemplate becoming involved in anything legally questionable, the first line item on your business budget should be your legal defense fund. 99 wasn't kidding when he said that you get an ENTIRELY different legal system with a quality criminal defense attorney versus a PD. Lawyer up with a PD, and it's over before it began. Seriously.

thanks...i have anger issues with certain types of people.... I am a teddy bear with 99% of the population... but I have been trespassed from so many restaurants around here because I end up telling an ass clown sitting at the next table that he needs to watch his mouth around my wife and kids. I don't like rude people and I tell them as much. One time it got way outta hand...I got 27 stitches in my head... he lost the use of his left eye. "Aggravated Assault" + "Great Bodily Harm" + "Permanent Disfigurement" = 30yrs in the state of FL. It started in line at a local grocery store...

1 out of 100 female guards is worth looking at...but it only takes one /default_smile.png
