I hope someone gets where I'm coming from here .We need to get some people and make a stand about being sick and not able anymore to get meds that work. We know the risks and want Rights to benzos ,sleep meds and pain meds without the problems .I'm not sure if there a group who can be a mouth piece for many who need access to meds even at a safe dose . If you know if this was ever done or how to go about it. I mean people have real reasons and because the Dea and government wants to make it hard for people to get help. I know a doctor can write or not but if they weren't afraid they be more willing. I think you should be able if your adult go to a pharmacy and get like 60 mg a month of benos or 300 mg ambein over the counter. They cutting off the internet now more .I hope others feel the same and we gather to see if we can get the govs to understand because its way better to medicate someone till they get better then going off or giving up or street drugs ..know that your doing the iop thing and really shouldn't have to.

Lol I'm right there with ya. While anyone can form a group (even the KKK has a legal recognition), I think our RTGTMWN group has about as much of a chance of getting what we want as NAMBLA.

Ahh where to start...It's a big circle of revolving dough...The pharm co's get their $ from insurance companies, insurance co's get their $ from the people, govt subsidized insurance and now tax royalities from oduma care, doctor's get their $ from the people & insurance co's and the govt, the pharm  & insurance co's give some of their profits to politicians (political & personal) who make the law's that the pharm & insurance co's want. They also use their profits to take the doctor's on high end vacations, golf outings, lunch & expensive dinners. So they all work together, and the politicians work for them. They are all intertwined more than Charlotte's Web was.

i admire your enthusiasm. I do not share it. For a good reason. This is not going to change.

Great idea for population control. I'm all aboard the CatintheHat train on this one.

I was just shooting a idea out because there a group here that needs meds. Can you give me more of idea of why you don't share it .I know the gov is making laws but they can repeal them to. I thought like a group of people with real issues just trying to make a stand online or tv .How the dea is making some people not get help .I'm a betting man that there doctor give them the meds they need. Thought people are equal but some got money or connections..

Sure! I am sorry for my negative attitude and realize with attitudes like mine, things never will change. It just seems to me as if it is too far gone. People that need pain meds quickly, and without much thougt AT ALL, are deemd junkies...by everyone except other pain patients. Even a former or current MD, that needs pain meds, keep it quiet because of the stigma. The same thing with mental illnesses. I mean, even if you dont have physical pain, there is a reason people are self medicating. That too, has such a stigma attached. The old tried and true meds that really work are constantly being replaced by a newer and better drug that doctors are pushing. BigPharma has the doctors in their pockets. These meds are killing us. The laws need to change, but they never will becaue BigPharma runs the country. Their money controls the elections and the elected officials are the ones that change laws. And again, should these elected officials be in need of meds down the road, sure, they will get them, but they will keep it quiet...because of the stigma. No one with a mental health issue or a self-medicating issue or a pain issue will EVER become a public official and keep their office long enough to do any good. There is lots of money in drugs...but just the new ones. So, between BigPharmas money and the stigmas attached to drugs and drug seeking, i dont have any hope for the cycle to be broken. Sadly, the bottom line is that the officials just dont care about the people. I think there are plenty of politicans who start out caring about the people but they become jaded. The issue is not one that they care about because the people that are being most hurt by it, cannot do them (the politicians) any good. That is what it is all about...the people who will benefit by the laws are the people that purchase the laws. Does that make any sense? Cuz i feel like i am babbling. Not a very organized thought, but it is mine. I pray to God that I am wrong, and honestly again, people with my attitude arent going to change a thing. But people with attitudes like yours, might. It seems so very hopeless. Perhaps I am being short-sighted, and it wouldnt be the firsttime...lol! I have been asked what I would do if i had the chance to change things. I dont know. YOu cant just give carte blanche to anyone who wants drugs.....many people would die. There has got to be a way for this to change somehow. I know I am not going to see it in my lifetime. I would love to hear something that would change my feelings.....i dont like feeling this hopeless for our, and future, generations. It makes me just sick that so many people have to love in pain, or take ridiculous chances with illegal suppliers, just to functio. My heart is full of love and sadness for the people in pain that are not being treated professionally. We should have someone taking care of us....we deserve it. It is cruel punishment for so many innocent people...when you KNOW relief is there, but just out of your reach

Just wait..soon normal things like advil will need a script. Things like trams will probably be a Schedule 1 - life in prison for possession. There will be a new Schedule X meaning if you are caught possessing or attempting to get it you will face the death penalty. Everybody has to have insurance, the internet is now getting new policing rules, you have to have a special box to get OTA television signals, the government/nsa requires all electronic makers to have a backdoor in them so they can snoop and hack them remotely. Is this freedom? In the free(est) country in the world? No. Is this a government by the people and for the people? The patriot act (ya nice name like net neutrality) killed the freedom of the press. Before the current guy was in office, he said he would repeal it. What has he done? Renewed it every year since taking office. We are technically still under the same State of Emergency that we were after 911. Is this still necessary? To steal our freedom, steal our access to a free press, our access to an unadulterated internet, is the same as invading every home in the country, and having the invaders beat us, steal our possessions (& meds), food, kick our dogs, punch us in the face again, then leave in our car.

Ahh glad this is not a vendor tread!

Unfortunately the campaign that is mentioned above would probably be loosely and poorly ran. Then big pharma would come in and destroy it like a size 12 extra wide boot would do to an ant trying to scurry away on the asphalt.

There has to be a better way.  The whole issue of pain management has grown entirely too complex with the politics involved, leaving the chronic pain patients totally screwed in the U.S. (and some states worse than others).  Rather than focus on the needs of those who struggle with debilitating chronic pain, doctor's are scared of the politics and additional 'hoops' involved, and won't prescribe needed meds, forcing legitimate patients underground to get the meds necessary to get thru another day.  So the patient now has to pay outrageous prices and take on enormous risk (both legally and with uncontrolled-source medications).  I know everyone is fully aware of this all this....the issue truly drives me insane, and there is no easy answer.

Very good points..The FDA which is ran by the Federal Government has a lot to do with what happens with doctors, and the who, why, when and what...Every doctor in America is being watched, and documented every year for their accuracy on what they do. They are ALL being watched like a hawk, and their hard work and 8-12 years of schooling are on the line. Many docs have been suspended by the medical board for so called "over prescribing". Prescribing the wrong drugs, malpractice, you name it! ..Docs are down right scared these days to prescribe narcotics with fear that they will loose their jobs. They all have family's and a lot to loose. If you loose your medical license, you can't just pop into another medical facility, and continue working.. Bigpharma would love to pass out meds like candy to everyone in the world, because it is all about the almighty dollar, and a multi billion dollar a year industry. Doctors receive commissions, and perks from the Bigpharma companies for pushing as many drugs as they can..It's like a game to see what they can get away with, without getting in trouble..However, it's a fine line, and if they go too far they risk loosing their jobs.. Some are very conservative and don't take the risks, while others are willing to take the risk, for the financial benefits.

BTW, this isn't just something I pulled out of my ass. I have 2 doctors in my family. One on my mom's side, and one on my dad's. We had a family reunion last year, and everyone showed up, and brought friends and family. There were 4 doctors amongst the group, and this topic came up one night, as they were sitting around drinking wine and getting a little loose..Finally one of them said..."Okay, we probably shouldn't talk anymore about this"...The conversation was amongst the 4 docs, but I was sitting right next to them listening to every word. When they noticed I was paying attention to what they were saying, they were quick to change the subject...

Jesus peanut....we are two peas in a pod. Lol!
LOL Cat. Yup we must be!

I agree with this. Some states are much worse than others for patients trying to find "pain management". I used to travel an hr to another state, due to restrictive access in mine. Here they blame a heroin epidemic...but the odd thing is that the dope didn't show up in major amounts until about 1 year after Afghanistan was invaded. Some people get pissed off when I bring this up, but maybe they are the same people that ignore facts when you prove them wrong. I am in no way blaming the troops, it is much bigger than that. They are at the very bottom (even though they are the ones doing all of the work, and making the people at the top mass amounts of wealth, more than they could spend in 100 lifetimes). There are pics online and were videos on the wikil3aks site of troops guarding poppy fields. I thought it was kinda odd, but they are just following orders. But who's orders? Go back to the 80's, when the C1A was peddeling weapons and cocaine during the Iran Contra Affair. Go back 10 more years to the Golden Triangle (Vietnam War), which at the time was the largest herion manufacturing area in the world. We have lost generations of our younger people to fight these drug wars. The Ci@ does not get enough (according to them) funding to run their operations, and they make their real dough thru the sale of drugs and weapons. They have money laundering banks in the Caymans and the Vatican. Why did I mention all of this? Because I am crazy? Because it ties in perfectly to this topic. If the pharms are legal, they will be losing money to run all of their operations. If drugs were legal, where would they get their money? The answer is easy. They would not. Numerous South American presidents and prime ministers have been taken out of power due to coups started by the ci@. What is down there that they need access to? The coca plant. That is huge money. Ok folks this history lesson is over. Professor Peanut will gladly answer any questions or comments everybody has. If I do not reply, I might be on a plane headed to a friendly country to get waterboarded.

I too have traveled to other states, both by car and plane at great personal expense for F2F appointments with more reasonable/sympathetic doctor's.  After being ripped off repeatedly by IOP's (and not knowing this forum existed!) I saw the out-of-state F2F doc's as my only option to obtain the meds I MUST HAVE to stay active and keep working every day.  Doc's in my state are scared shitless to prescribe Schedule II's, since both the state and federal government have them under the microscope.  The governments' stance only stokes the negative stigma associated with PK's, therefore the majority/healthy public views those who need them as drug-seeking junkies.  It may sound dramatic, but without the right meds I am physically incapable of holding down a full time job and supporting my family.

I don't know about all that other stuff Peanut...it's a bit over my head.  All I know is that CIP patients are left with some shitty options in the U.S. for this to be a hard-won republic founded upon the principle of freedom.

Well I'm glad to see all the different people's responses. I know pain meds was part of why I made this post . I feel pysch meds that help with stress and sleep got linked in as a problem drugs after the 90 s oxy thing. I never had problems getting my meds till 2011. I remember hiding my sleep trouble in the 80s and 90 s from everyone because that med was like your crazy if your on benzos . I been like others in some pretty ruff conditions and would take them and as things got better I be off them and really never need pain meds a lot till 90 when I was in car accident. The new meds don't work cost to much and are not covered by the insurance. I wanted to say when I wrote about benzossleeppain meds over the counter was just a fantasyland thing and feel more that your doctor use a dose to your body size and max dose for certain peroid of time. There a lot of great people here are that smart and seem to know more about why there's this problem with the new laws making it the way it is now. I felt this was a good place to see what others had on this subject. I feel that its way safer to a get meds from your doctor at a certain dose and quality then from the street type deal that kills far more . I mean if you have certain things wrong with you say permentaly disabled ,major illness there should be a law you can go get relief no problem, not the hey she's hot looking and the doctor wrtites her or him max and me you get Tylenol bs.. There's got to be away to get some help for the other people's medical problems. This might be the place that members or guest read and rally. I got the major problem but only get min relief anymore and fed up. I mean I'm about to hire the hottest stripper to come every doctor appointment see if it helps but there plenty of sick ,hurt injured people not feeling better...Why..because some government thinks they know everything that's good for us while they can't figure out how to spend are money or ever do on time without shutting down the government. Well think the least they do is give us a break and let us have some meds for Pain,Sleep and stress because its the right thing to do!!! To the people that can travel to doctors your lucky you can two hours in a car I'm shot and meds I'm on now barely work and as you can tell its frustrating as I know I'm not alone. If you seen my scares as many here have it should be you try this med ,then let's try this one till you are feeling a little better.enough people pics put in front of people like a late night ASPCA commercial should do it. There money for them big pharma and government agency. I kinda think that a certain agency became less bizzy and couldn't bust anyone to keep there jobs and went after doctors to save there jobs without really meaning it to get like this and need now for a overhaul . Cracking down on some roge doctors maybe had to be done ,but this seems to much and hope we can at least maybe have a day in court or the whitehouse lawn.lol

I posted that whole rant sorry about the grammar and paragraphs can't afford a editor I'm saving for the stripper
