For those of you in pain what are you prescribed Vs what do you tend to buy and why?

For me I'm prescribed an opioid called meptazin0l and Napr0xen.

For me they don't do the job and I'm in agony most of the time even with the meds. Not only that I can only take a limited amount and it I'm not careful they will be used up too quickly. I even got told off by the receptionist last time for running out too soon and requesting more a few days before I was due.

I'm looking to get some tap and give that a go to see how my body reacts to that medication. For anybody interested my issue is back pain

I’m prescribed Gabapentin and Voltaren for back pain and lower leg neuropathy.  Take them both as they do help some, but nothing like an opioid.

I am prescribed Methadone for both OUD (opiod use disorder) and pain. I got OUD from trying to treat my scoliosis pain myself and not letting a doctor handle it. A low dose of Methadone works wonders for my type of pain and believe it or not, I don't feel anything from it. I like that because I'm not chasing after a feeling. I no longer buy pills of the street and hope that I never do again. I am also on medications for anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I get drug tested for the Methadone and I like it because it holds me accountable. I'd probably still be using on top of the Methadone if they didn't drug test.
