What the hell is a selective scammer?

And why do they select you? In my experiences, unless it were by a solid, scammer of EVERYONE, everytime i panicked it was for nothing and general decency and not being a dick or plastering SCAM everywhere where, said vendors read, has always guaranteed success....albeit at a much later than hoped time. 4months for silk, a month x 2 diff domestic vendors.

It appears to be a matter of people reading too much instead of thinking about other possibilities than being selected to be fucked over.  Like mistakes, vendors aren't professionals....in the sense I could be a vendor, make a website, never scam a soul and still be a "selective scammer", probably because of mail-related issues. Or if someone makes threats then I'd keep their money cause at that point, itd probably safer to do so and worth appearing to be a scumbag than go to prison.

Yes. This is a hot-button issue to me. Makes me so.......Grrrrrr!!!😒

I think most of the time when people scream selective scammer (in the RC world) its b/c they never received their untracked pack or received an LL and so decided that it was never sent.  Yes, this is a possibility, or your pack just got lost or stolen in customs, or was seized and they just decided not to send a letter.   I get how people arrive at that conclusion.  I mean usualy people who don't receive get an LL, so not getting one would possibly seem fishy af.  For instance, last year i had one RC pack not show, nor an LL for it.   I also had one non-RC pack not show but it was actually tracked.  Last scan said "your item cleared customs" and then poof, gone.  No pack and no LL....Maybe ill get it a year later when they find it shoved behind something, or probably some custom's worker had a LOT of fun that weekend lol.  But if it didn't have tracking i could see how someone might jump to the conclusion that the pack was never shipped.

Have companies ever selectively scammed?? Most definitely, especially the kind that precipitates a full exit scam.  There's tons of scammy vendors out there who work scams in tons of different ways, including selective scams.  But i think 98% of the people screaming "selective scammers" probably don't realize that shit gets lost/stolen both in transit and in BOTH country's customs (if it gets caught in sender customs they aren't gonna send a letter to you lol) and also don't realize that US customs don't always send LLs for seized items (or send one way later than expected).  Or yeah, they freak out and then plaster Discords and forums with SCAMMERS and then a month later when their packs arrive they never come back and say OOOOPS.  Or they think if they scream loud enough on a forum they'll get a free reship or something.   The longest i had one take was 5 months, tho I've heard people claim a missing pack showed up a year later.

Its definitely an idea that's so pervasive in the RC community, and generally so impossible to prove either way, that it will never leave.

I ❤️@DoomKitty  well sai as always....i hate when people claim to be scammed (mostly by the naive  and "uneducated (i dont mean  that in a diracotory way) when they dont take into account customs. 98% of the time if you didnt get your international order, you havent been scammed, it was seized and ISC doesnt always send LL's. Are there selective scammers? Im sure their are. Bad in reality if you want a sustainable business, and you want you repeat customers, you wouldnt selectively scam.

  10. Professor_ @ Professor_: Hi Good Morning
  11. xenxra @ xenxra: I've opened a case with numerous exchanges at this point to monitor all the addresses I have on hand but after a lot of bakc and forth they all ultimately suggest I file a report with local PD but the people in my area are generally definitely not savvy enough to handle a case like this so I'd be left waiting around for them.to pass my case upto secret service or something
  12. xenxra @ xenxra: not a bad idea, I'm open to anything. problem is I don't really have a direct method of contact with the attacker. they used a VPN with a Google voice number to reach me.bc my number was leaked in a data breach (like 10 times at this point) and then the rest of the ordeal was carried out through a falsified coinbase front-end. atm I'm mostly just concerned with getting any phone numbers I have on hand suspended (done) and as many addresses as possible frozen (in progress)
  13. uncharted @ uncharted: @xenxra It's not the best advice but you could alway's bind a RAT to PDF file and send them an email from a differnt email posing as a lawyer/or some authority figure from a saying someting about sueing/fake affidavit or anything you can think that would make them scared/curious/greedy enough to open it and then drain their crypto or find out who it is and pinpoint their location and file charges. Just brainstorming.
  14. xenxra @ xenxra: appreciate the kind words everyone. I think I'll make it. if I can even just so much as manage to get one of these guys locked up with the trail.i have on them then I can sit well with that. based on a couple addresses I've come across they've taken at least $5mil total from other victims.
  15. T @ timyboy: BTC is soaring woohoo
