Without becoming overly personal or graphic, what's your plan today?

Myself, I'm thinkin'about chuckin'out some old junk that's been taking up space. Kinda like "Spring Cleaning" but instead Summer cleaning.

It's sometimes hard to decide whether to keep the "stuff" or just put it aside for next season. Either way, hoarding things which have become useless, broken, and just plain tiresome to look at anymore, eventually needs to be dealt with.

I'd consider selling some of the "stuff" but it's highly unlikely that anybody would be interested. Just a waste of my time to list it on the paper or have a garage sale.

Therefore, may just donate the stuff to some charitable cause for the underprivileged or needy.

How about you? What's your plan today? Surely more exciting than mine /default_smile.png

Cheers...

Sleep alllllllll day-hence the late response. I guess everyone else was extremely busy or the rapture happened.

Heard a loud bang from the third floor, thought it was just some idiot in the park smashed the cliff with his car. So I ignore it and keep searching this site for laugh, but my wife gets out of bed and looks outside and screams "The Garage." So, I think holy shit some drunk ass drove his car through our glass door garage.

But then my wife says "Fire", so I jump up thinkin' oh no, must be the power washer which I didn't unplug. So I ran up to the fourth floor to try and find the fire extinguisher, then ran all the way down to the garage and a raging fire was taking place.

Fortunately, I was able to put it out with the fire extinguisher and the outside water hose before the fire spread to my motorcycle. If that had caught on fire, with the full tank of gas, I think our first floor would have been levelled like a controlled demolition.

So, what started the fire? Well, dummy Sister-in-law put the hot  charcoal from the barbecue we had tonight into the plastic bag which also contained a small half empty propane canister and a bunch of other garbage. So, naturally after some time had passed by, an explosion occurred and in the garbage. And all the things I were gonna donate to charity from my "summer cleaning", roller blades, tennis rackets, the wood plank wall, and the electrical sockets were all destroyed. And now the WHOLE house is full of smoke.

Well, it could have been much worse. That's ask I can say. Perhaps we have fire insurance, I don't really know, and my wife doesn't know either.

Insanity at it's prime!

Slammer, that's crazy! I'm glad you're okay and at least it was stuff you were gonna get rid of anyway that got destroyed. (Maybe get rid of that sister-in-law, too!). Smoke smell is so hard to get out, that sucks! Especially if it's that burnt plastic smell....

I hope your day turns around, dude.

Hi Slammer,

That's an impressive/exciting day.

I'm just to take a drive a long the beach.  One of these days I need to check out yosemite or probably the grand canyon.

Thanks @two... Yeah, everybody is alright. Already suggested getting rid of the Sister-in-law in law months ago, but it didn't go over very well with my wife, to put it lightly.

You're right about the smoke smell. It's throughout the entire house and despite the windows fully open, fans turned on full, and the air conditioner turned on; it's gonna take time - probably 12 hours.

Anyways, I'm off to bed. No doubt breathing in the smoke all night will bring about a nice headache to wake up to, on top of my daily caffeine headache.

I'm thinkin if we had a sprinkler system set up in the house to sence smoke, instead of CCTV which we opted for instead, the entire house (furniture and all) would be floating in water. That would really suck considering the fire contained to only the garage.

Take care,

S

Yeah, man, water damage often does as much if not more than the fire itself (depending on the size of the fire, of course).

Hopefully 12 hours is all it takes for that smell to go away!. As a child, my house burned down and I still have nightmares about that smell, walking through the aftermath, looking for my poor goddamn dog. I guess I shouldn't get into too much more detail in the interests of anonymity. But it sucked. Lost everything. Hard times for awhile. Sad stuff which snowballed into more sad stuff. People are weird.

Anyway, I'm glad that you were able to get the fire out and keep it contained before it spread. Good work doing that!

Be careful about breathing in smoke alright, brother, that shit can be toxic. Give ya a vicious headache, for sure. Make sure to keep those windows cracked to keep a fresh airflow going, dont wanna accidentally poison yourself.

Sleep well.

I hope you wake up headache free and hassle free!

Hi Slammer,

Thanks, it's a long drive and I don't want to destroy another BMW.

All of those would be nice, but maybe a little extra money, super size that one please :)

I had no plan but I ended up changing my bunnies litter box, frying some bacon for blts, and bringing in an old door for me to start decorating.  Weird I know.

Visited the doctor and the dentist. Brushed my teeth. Put a sock and jacket on. Did some snowblowing. Cleaned the gutters.

Super... That's quite the stretch. Must of been nicin'after that long duration of time ~~
I'm fucking useless when it comes to smoking!! Forgotten how many times I've tried to give up!! Longest I lasted was a week, fucking worst week I ever had! :-)
