I saw many threads regarding the topic at hand, but all from like 5+ years ago...

I saw in a little documentary that in the beginning stages of his cancer, Timothy Leary would use nitrous oxide  [ l@ughing g@s, d3ntist g@s, whlppets...] to manage his pain, as he didn't want to support the shady pharma industries. Ya know...well, ya know if ya know a little about Leary.

As it is very safe when used correctly, and incredibly effective, I'm glad I learned that and am surprised it is not mentioned more when dealing with some painful conditions that may not be going anywhere.

I am almost at the point of not being able to speak, [Chewing seems out the window. God, I hope I can kiss....ahem..] and have found it INCREDIBLY helpful. Maybe one of 2/3 things that offer such overall relief, albeit briefly. Very good at relieving the face bones /teeth / muscle and nerve pain in the face and head. And body, but yeah. To the point.

Short of filing for a catering license so that I may get an industrial sized tank and have it filled, [although I will take any info on that process if anyone has any....] can anyone tell me where to find this at the best price? I would love to get a full tank, but I imagine they are not in high demand, and I don't know how the shipping would work on that...I'd be happy to learn otherwise though.   Are 8g pur3whlp cannisters from thebay really the best option? Really?

Much <3

Face the facts.  You need a dentist.  I know some dental emergencies can lead to death.  Keep this in mind. The cheapest procedure is to pull a bad tooth.  You can replace the missing teeth with a partial denture.  Be advised that the pain could be from something other than a tooth, like gum disease.  A root canal always requires a crown.  Total cost over $2,000. per tooth.  Implants are not feasible because they cost about $7,000.  per tooth from start to finish.  You could contact a dental school.   They might do your work at no cost.         If you are able to finance the treatment, you could start by taking care of the worst teeth first.  Also keep in mind  phantom pain.  That is where the pain is coming from some other place than where you feel the pain.  Good Luck.  There are clinics that will take care of your immediate needs and pain .  They wont do much more though.  At least get the teeth pulled to get rid of the pain and / or the potential further damage it can do.

If you buy like 300 8g canisters at a time, the price isn't that bad: $135 with free shipping on Amazon.  And that's a shitload of nitrous.  Make sure to buy a cheap whipped-cream-maker thing, too, so it doesn't seem suspicious.  (Well, at least to have plausible deniability... plus you can use it as a cracker if you have to.)  Back when I had to give myself stitches on a semi-regular basis, I bought a giant box of chargers so I could sew myself up without it hurting so much I'd have to stop.  Worked every time.

Aside: after one really bad cut that I stitched up, I asked my roommate (who was ironically an MD doing his residency) if it looked like I'd done an OK job, and he actually, yes, but that A) I probably should have asked him to do it since he's an MD, and B) I should go to my GP to see about getting some mupirocin.  So I went to the doctor and she was totally confused.  It probably took me 15 minutes to explain that  I'd stitched the arm up myself, and I simply wondered if I could get by with bacitracin, or if I needed something stronger from her.  She said she never encountered such a situation before, but setting aside how weird it was, the stitches were good, and bacitracin was fine unless I began to see signs of infection.  Just as I was leaving, she said, "I'm not going to ask why you had sutures on hand, but didn't that hurt like heck?"  I managed to keep a straight face as I said, "I can deal with pain" ;-)

Teeth pain is the worst, absolutely sucks, and it’s no joke. It was the worst pain of my life, and I’ve had some pretty painful experiences before. I have been dealing with a bad tooth for a while and actually finally got it fixed Wednesday, or half way fixed as I have to go back for the crown. The tooth had a cavity that I was unaware of that was between the teeth. I didn’t know until the nerve became fully exposed and hurt like a mother. Cold liquid hurt, chewing hurt but hot liquids hurt the absolute worst. It would send it hurting for hours. There was nothing that would help except putting some cool water in my mouth and just letting it sit on the tooth. Initially, it would cause more pain due to sensitivity but then it would ease it until the water started warming in my mouth and I’d have to swallow it and repeat. The worst thing was it didn’t just make that tooth hurt. The phantom pain began and would cause 2-3 other teeth hurting both top and bottom. It was SEVERE. And I don’t say that lightly. I’m a tough guy but it would make me start screaming and crying like a baby. No matter amount of pain pills would help. It wouldn’t even touch the pain. I’m talking strong ass Opies and several times a day .... too many times a day. I would finally get it to calm down enough to fall asleep, but I’d wake up grinding my teeth which would make it start ALL OVER AGAIN.

I don’t have dental insurance, so I called a low cost sliding scale place and had to wait over a month for an appointment. Long story short, I got in finally Wednesday and was in tears. My blood pressure was 170/110. They had to call medical assistance. It was supposed to be just a look and see to establish what needed done and schedule it. The dr, who was amazing, saw how much pain I was in and chose to begin working on it right away. She was wonderful.   She asked if I wanted it pulled or to save it. It is near the front, so I asked if we could please try to save it. She said if I had waited just 3 more months or less, it could no longer of been saved. At this point, it was turning brownish and had a black streak in it. She said she’d try. I got a root canal and a temporary filling. I have to go back for the crown. The total should of been well over $2k, but I got it done for $400. Plus I get to break down the payments. I’m no longer in pain, the black streak is gone and somehow the tooth has already restored almost to normal color. It’s amazing and such a relief. To have it pulled was only going to be $30.
You can find these type of clinics in every state. Just google low cost dental clinic. You can find a wide variety. My town is smaller, but I just had to drive 30mins to the north to the bordering state and got it done.

I wish you the best. I can fully empathize with you. It wasn’t my first rodeo (had an abscess on another tooth for 2years) and it unfortunately won’t be my last. Teeth will NOT get better on their own. It will only get worse. You must seek help and fortunately, there is help available. If you have health insurance, they don’t cover dental but 99% of all of them  cover emergency extractions 100%. If it’s infected, decayed or causing extreme pain, this is considered a need for emergency extraction. Bad teeth can cause other health problems too. Bad heart, heart infection, brain abscess, lethargy, high blood pressure, many others and even death. Bad teeth can kill you.  Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

  3. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 lol I am actually surprised it is a real ID. I needed those documents because my license had been expired for over a year and I had to start all over. Nothing was in the system. It was a huge mess. I had no clue I was signing up for Real ID. They asked me for the exact same documents that I needed for a State ID Card.
  4. S @ soupson: bless your heart buddy. no sense of grammar or proper insults/jokes. you need this place in ways i can’t comprehend

  8. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda I was under the impression that you'd need all of the points to get a real ID . I'd check it's validity if you're gonna fly domestic any time soon, just to make sure. Not to tell you what to do, sorry -
  9. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 In my state to get a Real ID, I need SS card, Birth Certificate and two proofs of residency. Which I am positive I had to provide to get a new ID when it had been expired.

  18. B @ bigblueallda: {Visit your local Driver Service Bureau with the necessary documents: original birth certificate, Social Security card, and two proofs of your state's residency. } I definitely provided this when I had to get a new ID when i let mine go expired too long maybe I unknowingly got one but I think it is pretty standard here.
  19. B @ bigblueallda: Well it was a state id renewal. Before that there was a mixup and I had lost my birth certficate and social security number. After a couple of weeks and finally getting several documents in order I was able to get a state ID. It had been expired previously for a little too long and they wanted all kinds of proof. It was a mess. But nah I looked up what to look for an my state's ID to see if it is a Real Id or not and my card as the symbol it is supposed to have. I'll take a closer look though
