So you're right, but I do not think anyone an SSL certificate issued for this page. At the old site which now was so, but certainly not more.
Order only with a prepaid credit card. Either you run the risk or you can stay there. It is up to you. I have no paranoia because I have a prepaid credit card and mailing address, you can all see.
But you recklessly tell people it's safe to order with a CC when it's not.  If I used my Visa with 20K of available credit on it to place an order on this site right now... I'm literally most likely totally screwed.  Not because of money loss, because fraud is covered... but the investigation into what site I ordered from where my card was compromised, etc..... that particular card would likely get shut down and not reopened.  My exposure is far greater than that but will spare the details because I think we have a bit of a language barrier GermanDB.... but the hassle / risk that goes along with the getting screwed is light years away from the rewards of getting a BZ I can get somewhere else.  Not trying to give you a hard time, just trying to help you understand the bigger picture and ramifications of them not having an SSL and someone placing an order.... prepaid card aside.  No animosity here bro, just sayin'  S-

I understand what you're saying about it being "ok" in terms of functionality, but as DGSB accurately stated, providing credit card information via a web page without a valid SSL certificate leaves your information unencrypted and vulnerable to hackers, ID thieves, etc. The issues of functionality and security of your data are separate issues.

And as far as DBG generating the same warning, again, it's a different matter entirely, as no credit card information is involved.
I have emailed and first said how glad very many people are to see them back on line. Then I asked tt if no SSL protection are they doing something else? told them several of their members want to place orders but concerned about this issue, and could they please tell me how they are protecting my cc number from theft when I pay for an order?

I also said when they replied I would let their other concerned customers know how they answer and what they are doing that protects us, so we'd feel safe ordering from them that a 3rd party would not steal our #s and money.

Thanked them for their time, saying I felt sure they were swamped today, but several of us would appreciate knowing about this.

I will post whatever tt tells me about how they protect transactions now.  If/when I hear from them.

What about the 128-bit Secure lock at bottom of tt home page?

128-bit security not enough to protect transactions?

Am I the only one that thought it best to let customers get an invitation rather than post the new addy openly?  I reread the email and didn't see a request to forward it on open forum like the others have said. Perhaps I'm being overly sensitive, if so pardon the interruption.

Yes, 128 bit encryption is adequate for protecting credit card transactions. However, the warning being thrown by Firefox is due to the provider of the SSL certificate not being recognized as a trusted, known provider. Essentially, in theory, the site could claim to have 128 bit SSL encryption, but it's meaningless unless the encryption provider is a proven, trustworthy entity.

I apologize, I should not have said that the people would be safe. Basically, everyone has to inform itself mean that the individual things on the internet (eg SSL). I know we have a language barrier, I do not want even hostile to, because you're right in what you say.
Basically, everyone must decide for themselves what risk he is taking. I would still recommend just about any virtual prepaid CC at such stores shopping. Fill your cart, expect from how much it costs and charge the amount to your PP CC ...

Nothing is safe on the Internet, especially not the private information. AMC also uses an SSL connection and yet the credit card data is resold.

We're all in the same business, and therefore we should, as you said, not hostile to, but like-minded friends /default_smile.png

No worries GermanDB.  It's all about information sharing.  We're on the same page, maybe just a different paragraph.  But again, I think it's mostly due to language.  I do OK with Spanish but do not know any German.  Going to try something.  Tell me back in English what this says:

Keine Sorge GermanDB. Sagen Sie mir zurück in Englisch was dies sagt:

GermanDB not worry, it's all about information sharing. We are on the same page. I think we confuse a few words. I think this problem is mainly because of the language. While I can speak spanish, but no german.

This is the translation I've read it  /default_smile.png ... Is it right?

My English skills are not good, I live here in deepest Bavaria in Germany in a village of 200 people.

Very close... enough so that if we have troubles, I think I will be better able to make what I'm trying to say easier for you.... but I have to say, you write very well in English.....

Maybe I should be a bit more specific - for those who have placed an order since the new set-up, have you gotten an acknowledgement that they have received your order?

I got the email, but when I type in the details it does not come up, even if I copy and paste. Im not good with internet so dont know what to do

Could someone with moderator powers put the new name of the site on the first post of this thread, or somehow make it easily accessible?

It took me a while to track down the new web address of http://www.ttm2u.com

Thanks /default_smile.png
