They would have to ship from NL to another EU country before sending to US.

There are courier services that do things like this in places like Africa were there isn't a mail system that is very consistent. I'm sure there has to be someone doing it but very quietly

Very true. For instance ---- the South African postal system went bankrupt a couple years ago and now there is no international mail from there so they have to rely on private couriers to deliver out of country. I just received a bunch of 1p that way with a 3 day delivery from JoBurg to midwest US. It helps if you have a friend in Europe or Africa who can reship stuff to you.
