Recently it appears that I have unfortunately become an extremely rare statistic within our little community. The mail carrier misdelivered a package that allegedly had magazines within it, and the person to whom they delivered it accidentally opened it and phoned the police over whatever they found. A search warrant was served on my place and I was arrested for unrelated items. They didn't charge me with everything they found and they didn't charge me with this supposed package yet either.
This has really turned my life upside down and while the amounts weren't staggering, it doesn't look good. I am very worried now that the feds may try to charge me with dealing just based on the amounts even though I certainly am not and never have. The prospect of going to prison over this is very overwhelming but I am extremely addicted and even now I am wondering if I can just get a PO box and keep going. I feel quite alone now and fearful, my life was going so well.

What do you guys think? How do I cope with this situation? What is the likelihood that my incoming mail is being watched now and for how long might that be the case? I have already spoken with a lawyer and they do not seem hopeful on getting the search warrant overturned. At this point I think I am just going to stop and try my hardest to get used to being sober again. My lawyer has recommended I do inpatient rehab to help my case so I may do that if insurance will cover it.

Be safe guys and do not skimp on opsec.

Listen to your lawyer. I would not fuck around with ordering to a p0 bachs or anywhere else for a long time.

Sorry this happened to you but def pump the brakes on future orders.
If you havent been charged with anything whats stopping you from just moving?
I was the victim of a home invasion robbery once and I moved the next day

So someone can legally open someone elses mail accidentally and that evidence can then be used to get a search warrant?

Thats wild. Since its federally illegal to tamper with someone elses mail, delivered accidentally, or not.
Good point

I could be completely wrong here, but I’m thinking that, since the mags were discovered via unlawful means (unaddressed parties opening mail), those particular items should be inadmissible as evidence in any case. The search warrant and whatever items were discovered as a result, however may still be chargeable offenses. The “accidental” discovery of the ”subversive literature,” no matter how it was discovered, is just what the bureau of morality would have brought to a judge to establish probable cause/means of suspicion to “validate” the search. Praying for your safety and freedom. God with you.

I was thinking this also! How could anything stick if LE’s case is based on info from an obtained from someone committing a federal crime? Still though, rough situation :( best of luck to OP

Its kind of case by case according to chatgpt.. If the person stopped as soon as they discovered the drugs and the opening of the package was a genuine mistake then yeah the cops can go after the person. Its wild but legal.

That’s scary as F. My pack was delivered to my neighbor’s box. After I had determined that, I chased down my driver to get him to open the box and retrieve it before the neighbor opened it.
I gave my driver a nice holiday gift!
More and more mail is being mis-delivered, so this a real issue, with what @LittleDabbie426 posted.
Know your neighbors so they will bring it to you when it happens. I have had other mail opened by neighbors, people don’t look at the addressee of the packs/letters. If neighbors know there’s an issue, they will be more likely to check. I emailed all of mine before going after the driver. No one had yet received, it was delivered, and I had that other issue, so the driver complied.
Stay safe! Know your rights!

Opesec is also part of the equation if the police can easily say that you willingly ordered this package, trace it by email, pay slips, bitcoin recipets ect then that just bolsters their case to get a warrant and raid your place, which is likely what happened in the op's case.

In any case deny deny deny is Rule #1

Kinda wondering if having a neighbor open the package is a strategy to get a search warrant

man oh man this thread is Fkn terrifying crazy how easy our “rights” can be trampled on I’ve had multiple packs misdelivered one that I was thankfully watching be delivered to my neighbors box and was able to retrieve and another uesspee$ was able to find after dropping it somewhere w similar addy town over the following morning that was a Fkn long night to say the least… hope OP is okay.

Fed cases have different rules. Such as heresay is admissible. It takes a period of time to turn it from state to fed. I knew someone that hit a lick at a bank and they release him from county after state dropped and fed hadnt picked up yet.

He was going around celebrating. My mother had picked him up from county. Lol

Very hard to prove anything if you were careful in your subscription. Say nothing. Let the lawyer do the talking.
