I've seen many people lately publicly posting about things that they are currently waiting for that are in transit.

STOP DOING THIS!!!

If something hasn't been sent out yet, or is running late...take that up privately with your subscription service.

Posting about this stuff could possibly bring scrutiny onto not only you, but also our precious subscription providers.

And if youre wanting to post a review for whatever service provider you used ..then wait until AFTER you have received the item, and then come and post your review.

Obviously ..ya'll can do whatever you want. But this is something that I always recommend to others , and that I personally ALWAYS follow.
Ive been around for 20+ years ..so I have picked up a decent bit of knowledge over the years.

Don't quite understand why this in particular is so verboten and nobody ever had a problem with such postings years ago (they were considered helpful), but sure, fine, I'll keep this in mind in the future.

One thing I'd like to gently point out is that a while back it seemed like (especially !nt'l) v3nd0rs listed on here were vetted more closely up-to-date, like if someone was up on here you could assume they were solid and in good current standing, mods didn't let listings remain without *recent* reports of successful subscriptions and authentic products. Seems more lax now, a number of m@gazine providers that were good at one time but questionable in the present w/last reviews many weeks or months ago. Such posts this topic decries wouldn't be as common I don't believe if v3nd0rs were assessed/vetted more frequently for legitimacy, communication & quality. Just my opinion.

Think of it like this...
If you have something in transit to you.. And the contents are something you'd rather not be found, and to arrive safely.

Publicly posting about it means anyone and everyone , possibly the folks who you dont want poking around your pack, could possibly see what you say. If they decide it's worth it.. And/or have a reason to be poking around anyway.. Then they might connect the dots on who made the post to your real life identity.. Then get the necessary people involved to intercept your goods. That post, etc. washes away at your amount of plausible deniability.

It could also go the other way... Something gets intercepted and they figure out where it came from. Then go after whatever entity sent it out.

When you're doing these types of things.. Always try to make yourself above any "low hanging fruit" that the powers that be go after first. Dont make things easy for em. Dont incriminate your self or anyone else - and if you do... I would advise doing so AFTER the fact.

It's just not smart. Not good opsec.

And I totally agree with you about the vendors here. Some of them - amazing, completely trust worthy.
Probably 80% of them I wouldn't bother with, personally.
I do my homework on anyone I come across. And then I'll only deal with them if I 110% have complete confidence in their legitimacy and reliability. As well as their security - for both them selves and me.

A lot of outright scams roll through here too.

Sources can be discussed without divulging things that are in transit CURRENTLY. Discuss previous orders.

If there's an issue contact them directly. In private.

Both points well made and much respected. My personal rule is to wait until my clothes re dry. Flip sideI’m sure is hard to vet them out so much though these days. I’m just glad a few have stuck it out been consistent that “hung a shingle” quite awhile. We have all seen them come and go but the good ones..still doing things with class.

Much needed post for all members of the forum to see, ty OP, been trying to tell people this on various threads when I catch them doing it. Remember that what affects you may affect MANY MANY people on the other side of things. If you keep your OPSEC up, you're doing service to others as well. Think of good OPSEC as a selfless act as well as one that benefits you.

I just seen this and i guess I’m going to delete a recent post I just made. Now.. but I can’t get the place where I ordered the magazines from to give me any insight on what might have occurred other than, “it probably got lost in the mail” but that’s never happened before and haven’t ever had any issues like it before and I’m concerned… why is this subject listed in the forums here then if people’s concerns about these types of things ain’t supposed to be spoken about?

What do you mean by "why is the subject listed here in the forums"?

It's one thing to discuss something that has already made it's way to you...but making posts talking about stuff like :

" gonna place an order with Vendor XYZ next week"
Or
"Emailed Vendor #69 last night, made payment... Now just waiting on my items to show up"
Or
"I ordered from Vendor 6-7 last week. Said it was sent, but nothing has shown up yet. What could be going on? "

All of these are examples of the type of thing Im talking about here. And all constitute shitty 0p$ec & dont really contribute anything of real substance or importance to anything.
Theyre pointless and nobody here can give any more accurate or helpful information regarding an order than the vendor it's coming from will be able to.

There’s a reason that vendors on DeeEnEm’s do not give tracking numbers unless it’s an absolute emergency. You having the tracking number proves you had prior knowledge of what was in said parcel, which eliminates any chance of plausible deniability like talking about your orders on here is the opposite of good OpSec

Agree 100%...v3nd00rs have much more to lose then just us avid readers and if we lose the ability to keep them safe it all falls apart.

I also saw a post in the newtrop1c section where someone was complaining they couldn't read the posts because people were substitutting symbals for letters.
Really if it's to hard to make a few ch@nges so that this forum cannot be easily found with a simple search and a bit of time then such members probably shouldn't be here.

It's just common sense, if this place becomes to easy to find then it's inevitable that eventually the sort of people we don't want to find this place will find it.
Once that happens then this place could vanish very quickly.

We have to remember just what we are doing here people....surely it's not to much to ask to just think about what you are posting.

You don't even have to make huge changes so it becomes a mind bending exercise to work out what is being said....just change a few letters here and there and don't post pics or openly talk about things that we don't want certain people knowing about.

We are very lucky to have a resource like this, let's make an effort to help it stay around.
