He's still eating and barely walking, He's been a good boy and I just want to give him a pain-free rest of his life and don't really want to guess on the dosage or anything if anybody knows anything I would appreciate any info you have.

Hey buddy HUGE pit lover, my American/bullmastif is 5 and a savage sorry to say. man that is one of the ailments that will end up causing the animal so much pain and Pitts are so fucking loyal and true they mask the pain from owners. I would work on inflammation as that is what is causing the most pain aside from the bone to bone......So sorry to hear about it We dont deserve the love and loyalty a dog gives I can tell you are a great parent to em hope you all can find comfort.

To help dogs with hip dysplasia, you can provide a balanced diet that includes high-quality food and supplements like glucosamine and chondroitin, which may help reduce joint inflammation. Additionally, maintaining a healthy weight and incorporating physical therapy or hydrotherapy can improve their comfort and mobility.
just pulled that off line Gavapentin I have heard as well good luck buddy

Hey thank you very much friend, I appreciate it, I was leaning more towards painkillers or special k or something but dealing with the inflammation like you said is probably going to do a lot better. Is Gavapentin OTC? Is it Gabapentin?

found that online, a calculator for Gabapentin dosage for dogs and hip dysplsia, looks like a great source of info for ya, hope it helps

I appreciate that it turns out the painkiller that the vet was giving him was actually gabapentin so the dosing was right on the bottle except for the vet fucking wants him to come back every 2 weeks and pay a big fee to get more pills fucking assholes

If you’re looking for internal repair and healing, several peptide therapies have been found to be both safe and high effective. BPC-157 is probably the most researched and utilized, although Pentosan (I think polysulfate) is used in humans and animals to regenerate degraded tissue.
