I’m Rx’ed Vyvanse 70mg and Xanax 1mg tabs (60count) a month currently and have been on that combo for years now… and it took a hot minute to get that combination, but not as hard or as long as I was anticipating?
For the Vyvanse (due to insurance issues, medication costs, and bullshit that doesn’t make sense… I’ve been switched between Vyvanse 70mg / Adderall XR 30mg / Adderall IR 15mg (2x daily) but regardless, a stimulant that I like) and to get that, I had to start by “trialing” some SSRI/SNRI’s, which I refused to take bc I hate them, effexor made me feel crazy—so I tried wellbutrin, which, come to find out via a genesight test, doesn’t even work for me—I got a new PCP at the time (but not my current PCP) and told her simply I can’t focus and was put straight on some ADHD medication. Never had to trial any methylphenidate types of drugs or ritalin/concerta combination or anything (which, is nice, bc I found out in my genesight testing that the medication class of those that include methylphenidate type drugs don’t even work with my genetic makeup and would be nonsensical to even try) and stimulants specifically amphetamines are really my only option, as well as finding out I am a fast metabolizer of stimulants as well.. puts me on a high dosage. —side node — I’m trying to get my primary to get me on a “booster” dose of IR’s to go with my daily vyvanse, and idk if that will happen, but I think if I switched my PCP to some young and dumb patient pusher, I could get them easily (I have a private practice dr bc of medical issues, so shes a big hesitant and more careful about everything I think, but very much never going to take away my scripts ever which is nice)
As for anxiety meds—had to trial all these SSRI/SNRI’s as well, which I said no I hate this shit and just pretended to take them—and then the wellbutrin was part of this… and then hydroxyzine (an anihistamine with anti-anxiety properies) made my mouth dry af and sooo groggy, I used it for awhile but the side effects were so gross to me and also it just didn’t help. Then I got put on @tivan/@lpraz0lam (which according to my gene testing, is not a good drug for me at all) and i was on that for awhile, until I got my private practice PCP who just switched me to xanax off rip without even talking to me about it, and I’ve been on that shit forever now. I used it up quick, but she doesn’t have to know that.
Trying to get more at the moment—and now trialing SSRI/SNRI’s again—not taking that shit, just going to pretend to—and try to get a booster dose of adds and blame my increased anxiety on my ADHD bc i think that will work.
Its been like… an 8 year process from start to current.
Hope the insight helps.
I also was in like.. an outpatient treatment program for a few months and since they went under, I have no paper trail /records from that place—which has saved my ass so much not going to lie about that. Thank God they lost my records and there’s no trace of me being in that program. Things would be a lot different i think if that hadnt been the case.
