WTF?! Can someone tell me what to do concerning ordering with a pre-paid visa card? I loaded a few hundred dollars onto a greendot visa and made an order. A few hours later I get an email saying my order has been cancelled because the card company declined it. I called them and they said I have to wait until the actual card comes in the mail with my name on it. So, I waited. It came. I ordered and just received an email saying that the card declined the order again. I'm so furious right now I can barely see straight. I've got one order that I've been waiting 40+ days on and I've been trying to make this order for a week now.

Exactly. "Peace of mind" is vital especially if one suffers from anxiety, which Benzos are specifically designed for. Not implying that's your case, but I can completely understand how offering the 'insurance' option is great for many members, plus an additional money maker for the vendor.

So whats the deal? Can anyone explain what might be going on? I've always used my Visa debit and never had any inssues, I even told my bank I make regular purchases and they indicated this amount would not be processed.

You need to find out WHY the bank will not process it. It's your money, spend it as you see fit. They canceled 2 orders of mine, 2 separate calls, but I got it worked out. You order your healthfoods from this site, what's the problem all of a sudden?

But if you go to cvs and get a Net Spend pre-paid card the order goes directly through. You don't even have to wait on the card to come in the mail with your name on it. Ttm WILL NOT ACCEPT GREEN DOT PRE- PAID CARDS PERIOD. Atleast thats what I was told when I called yesterday.

It sucks if you bought a GD card just to use for this vendor. Sounds like your bank is doing you a favour.  You should never use a debit card to make online purchases from another country.  The money is instantly transferred to the supplier - and there are no consumer protection laws to fall back on if something goes wrong.

When a company sets up a merchant credit card account, it does not receive your money straight away.  Your bank keeps it for 30-45 days before handing it over - giving you time to do a chargeback if you're not happy.  In which case, the supplier doesn't get the money, it costs the bank nothing, and the customer gets their money back.

If a bank has had just a handful of complaints about a overseas supplier, it will automatically block any other customers from using their debit card with that supplier.  This saves the bank having to explain to lots of irate customers that they can't do a chargeback, no the bank's not going to refund them, and it was their own stupid fault for using a debit card in the first place (or words to that effect).

I learnt about this the hard way, do yourself a favour and don't make the same mistake.

Greendot preload cards no longer work outside USA. Have use a Walmart or Netspend  prepaid debit card. Almost all the Visa and MasterCard you see at stores are by Greendot.
