Thanks for posting, I've found this to be one of the better articles out there on this issue. My next doctor's appointment will be interesting.

I read this article yesterday and now I'm really nervous about going back to my dr.

I better start looking for some anxiety meds!

Thanks, Thor,

Very interesting.

Fed govt again telling us what is best for our lives.  Working for the govt for a while I can tell you that while i applaud my "big brother" for looking out for "my best interests of safety" I still feel that we live in a "free" (not so much anymore) country and that opiod deaths and abuse are the responsibility of the individual family and at worst, the state.  I know that when public safety is at risk that the government will act but where do we draw the line?  If druggies or potheads want drugs or pot, they will get it.  period.  All this will do other than close down some of the shady US prescription clinics, is make it harder for people with real pain to get the meds they need.  Most docs these days, even in the left coast, look at any pain pt under 50 suspiciously already.  Now oxy prescriptions will go up, hydrocodone scripts will go down, world wide prices will go up, and the innocent will be trampled along with the rest.  Sorry to blab but I'm only saying what most of us are thinking anyways.  View this as my coming out party

Hey, nice coming out DisabledV. I am so disgusted about Govt. making health care choices for me. It reminds me of when they took Phen-Fen off the market because 2 people in a million had supposedly died from taking it. My dr. said "a lot more than 2 will die from obesity out of that million."

Chronic pain is akin to leprosy where I live. If you say you have it, no one will treat you. I don't enjoy needing Hydreaux to live my life, but for me the benefit outweighs the risk. Why can't this be my decision and my responsibility?

in my opinion It should be your decision and responsibility....we are all connected to the same internet.....we have never been able to be such an informed society and ignorant to that information because it takes 5 mins outta a day.  Again just my opinion

when you hear so-and-so died of an overdose on the news you need to get ready for the next part, the blame game.  blame the doctor, blame the friends, blame the manager, blame the laws; in fact, blame everyone except the person who died.  if someone wants/needs drugs, he/she will get them.  the fault, after all, is not in our stars but in ourselves.  people will do what they want or need to do and moving a drug up the schedule is not going to change that.

Looks like they are using the same method as they do for gun control. Make laws so strict that regular people cant get what they need.

the figures are pretty shocking tho, you think the only country in the world with pain is the USA? its not. I'm glad those pain killers are hard to get in the UK because I know I would abuse them. When I broke my back they gave me tramadol. I abused them. They have me DHC straight after the accident but i think that was more so I could breath as I also broke all my ribs on one side and BOY!!!! those were some strong pain pills. I felt! I felt so good that i signed out with two broken vertebrata, 6 broken ribs and loads of other sore stuff.  About 5 hours later i could not breath or move. I was in bits for about 6 weeks even with the trammies. I have never taken the oxy type but I will guess they are the same as 30mg DHC????

Self control issues are your personal problem, but don't worry you won't be getting any 0*x*i*es in your part of the world. Let the gov't control your problem if you want, but we like to live free of gov't interference in on our side of the pond. Best thing to come out of the UK is Gorden Ramsey and... well, I would say beer but I prefer a Sam Adams to that warm black stuff y'all send over here.

I have no health insurance and go to a community health place where payment is based on your income..My GP is not a MD but a PA..She was prescribing me Norco but at my Appt. last week she said the DEA had her handcuffed and she couldn't prescribe opiates anymore and if I wanted that she would have to refer me to a pain clinic..Strongest thing she could offer me was trams..I like trams but sometimes that just don't cut it for serious chronic pain with the conditions I have..Man that sucks..Guess I better be ready to whip out the wallet.

It's Really a sad state of affairs...I was prescribed Ibuprofen 800's a couple of months ago when I was involved in a Motorcycle wreck, and had a dislocated shoulder, and road rash down my left side....You have to break your neck these days, just to get a few hydro's, and you can forget about getting a refill!

Truly pathetic...!!

Alot of doctors lately act like trying to get help with pain is a crime. Even with endless amounts of proof. They put so much liability on the doctors now. I'd rather the person with the medical degree make decisions about my health care than law enforcement and politicians. Treating pain with painkillers is what they are for. If Tylenol and Motrin were actually enough then all these medicines wouldn't exist.

True dat! ^^^bump^^^

Another giant pet peeve with current trends in health care is:

Painkillers are addictive so they are bad.

Antidepressants are equally addictive but we will give scripts for these to every person who isn't happy.

Do you never ask "how does the rest of the world deal with pain?" Oxy's should not be prescribed as much as they are in the USA. I race motorbikes and have done for years. I get smahsed all the time, my mates get mashed up as well, all the time. Outside hospital the most we would get is Trammies or maybe the odd DHC. Point being if the vast majority of other people can get on with it why are these drugs needed so much in America? I am not talking about you people on here, not for a second. I know that we are all different and some people are in so much pain they can barely cope. I know people need oxy's etc to live. I am talking about the huge scale of a problem. I know some people dont like the government doing things but look at the health service I have access to here in the UK, unconditionally. compared to what you have. Are you seriously saying you prefer the states because its your own choice etc etc ? I've been round the whole world. Parts of America were shockingly poor, I could not believe the scale of the homeless problem in LA. No other first world country would allow that to happen. Governments have their purpose. I've been for 2 mri's, a cat scann, 3 appointments with different specialists, a bone scann. 5 appointments with an anaesthetist  in the last 24 over my last crash and it cost me........................£0. They even paid for my taxis. I work so pay national insurance i suppose but if i was out of work it would not make one bit of a difference. I always try and be open minded about things. The states does some things good but health care is not one of them.

I'm certainly not going to argue that US health care isn't one giant clusterf*ck. It's run as a big business instead of any effort at focusing on patient care. Still, government involved in my decisions about what is right for me medically is a huge issue. It's all about money and control and not about what is best for the individual patient.

  6. C @ CannedBisque: Anyone willing to overnight?
  7. N @ neurowoot: Happy to discuss this more in DMs, but there are some studies (older studies) regarding a pep that actually helps with opioid (and alcohol) WDs. I’m not selling, I just find peppers fascinating
  8. BigShep @ BigShep: Rhodium passed?
  9. T @ turndontburn: @Poptartcarts3 just buy meff like a grown up
  10. CalFresh @ CalFresh: I just spoke with Rhodium last week. Whatever id
  11. Poptartcarts3 @ Poptartcarts3: Anyone do dead drops in texas?
  12. F @ Frickinwut: Real bummed about mgm/7oh getting schedule 1’d. Imagine if the US actually researched those alkaloids and found pain relief without crazy death risk. Also I’d really love to find some Pynazolam lol sorry i digress
  13. RonaldDonald @ RonaldDonald: Does anyone know what’s happening after the 5th with óñłïñè mářkètz?? 7 and mgm is such a good thing to keep around on those waiting days and delays.
  14. RonaldDonald @ RonaldDonald: Yo that crash just made me ship my panties 😭👍🏼
  15. Poptartcarts3 @ Poptartcarts3: Anyone with meff pressies around austin TX wanna help a girlie out
  16. PlanetExpress @ PlanetExpress: @brofessormd this isn't even the first time we've seen this whole setup go through this mess. There seems to be some sort of pattern here; every time stuff gets rocky with shipments, missed deliveries, or a pile of refund requests, it always cycles back around. Honestly, watching this routine play out since 2021 has been wild. Just something to keep in mind when making plans.
  17. P @ piratepenguin: So they are pink hello kittys. Ya I'll test but probably won't take them at all
  18. DutchRCshop @ DutchRCshop: @piratepenguin Dont take without testing! Probably amfetamine or XTC. Small chance its something else but still, how tf you get random pills in the mail lol
  19. moai @ moai: @piratepenguin probably xtc or similar but don’t take it without testing it. I would definitely test them, could really be anything.
  20. st1ckyf1ng4z @ st1ckyf1ng4z: had “confirmed” this. Just this morning someone claimed “Just so you guys know, there is someone else that's taking over and is going to take care of all that was left behind. But I would be patient please“. I would take this all with a grain of salt though, anything is possible, and I don’t want to be spreading rumors
