Biggest mistake for a long time  cancelling that film for the foreseeable future.

Do you get the feeling that if it had been Iran making the threats the film would

be showing on TV 24 hrs a day.

Bemused as to why a Japanese entity would bow to N.Korean demands........,they

already censored it prior to release..??????

The movie chains bolted to avoid litigation from any patrons who could later sue

if an attack took place.

An Attack was all smoke and mirrors..bs...!

No offence but this wouldn't have been acceptable in Europe , "the satanic verses"

got published despite the death threats......

cheers.

I completely agree. What a lot of horseshit! They spent a fortune making and advertising this, and they're worried about North Korea? I am mystitied.

Not that it's something I wanted to see but what happened to "land of the free, home of the brave?".

Damn I hate it when I type in the middle of posts! When something pissed me off, I don't pay attention :(

cool no probs...mate.....lol

without offending folks on here  as 2earls mentioned, I too was surprised that the

great advocate of democracy and we don't negotiate with terrorists , allowed this

act of global censorship........staggering actually.....

Maybe this situation isn't as crystal clear as it appears.......?

My view of much of society, not just here in the UK, but in many other developed countries, is that many people just can't wait to be offended, or especially just can't wait to be offended on behalf of someone else. In my particular industry most people's grumbles and complaints really are what we call "first world problems". Pathetic.

A, ha . A jags fan ...pretty rare, good result over ICT last week mind you.....lol

I am surprised Sony ever went forward with this project in the first place.

They couldn't foresee problems with a movie about assassinating one of the most paranoid whack jobs in the world?

As @meyerlansky suggests, I'm sure we're not getting the whole story either.

I don't know earls, have you seen the latest 2 episodes of southpark? Episodes 9 and 10, topical and reasonably offensive in a comical way, satire to the max. It is pretty vougue pissing people and countries off these days. It's really not a bad thing to laugh at ones self, though in saying that, I can't see north Korea being a barrel of laughs haha

yeah but they always wreck my coupon when I take them..........home or away.....????
Never touch them mate, only second away win of season, and been shipping silly goals up until Saturday then. I don't care for ICT either, there's only one Thistle!

well they have been taken this weekend surely they can hump Dundee ffs!!!

the simpsons took the p*ss about kim jong IL , the previous NK dictator , the current guys dad. They didn't get

much hassle and it was pretty acerbic , name checking his human rights record.

As a tech guy said today "what threat are they gonna attack 18,000 cinemas at once" . Sony are being very

economic with the truth . The actual hackers may have very sensitive info and may be blackmailing top execs

with the pay off being the ban on the film...??
