MM without a card

I recently moved to California where Medical Marijuana is legal, but I'm not a resident and unable to get a card for my medicine. I do use various MOM providers but I would love to be able to get a card and go get it myself as it will be easier and not having to wait is great. I know this is a longshot but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get a California MM card without being a resident. I read an article stating that it's not required to have a California ID, but it was enforced as so. I guess my question is do anyone know of any dispensaries/doctors in the Bay Area who are willing to treat patients without being a California resident.

Are you from a foreign country? What's keeping you from getting a CA ID? Not that I care, I'm just wondering.

I seriously doubt a Dr. or dispensary will risk their practice or business selling to someone without a medical card. I think it is a requirement that you be a resident to get a MM card.

Thats the bad news. The good news is cannabis possession is decriminalized for an ounce or less, not packaged for distribution. Only a citation and small fine, I think $100.

Good Luck!

The reason for not having an ID is because my husband and I are here on a travel assignment for 3 months, so I didn't think I would be able to get a California license as I'm here temporarily and do not have a permanent address. But I knew it was a longshot but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks

i would think an order from here would be the better bet if your going to be there for three months..?  NO?

Thanks for the replies. Yeah we have been placing orders from trusted MOM providers but we were just wondering if anyone knew of a loophole to use one of the many dispensaries in the Bay Area. I saw this article (http://www.eastbayexpress.com/LegalizationNation/archives/2015/01/28/why-any-patient-can-go-get-medical-marijuana-in-california-right-now) which basically says it's not a law to have a state ID but it was enforced as so. I was just curious if anyone knew of a place that would accept us without having an California ID.

Thanks

That's a very interesting article, Jeffhardy29. I've had a card for about 10 years and they always do ask me for ID at both my yearly Renewal visit, and any dispensary I visit. Perhaps with that article in hand you could get a Dr. to give you a card but then dispensaries might balk. Dispensaries are quite expensive too, especially for top shelf, but I do like the concentrates they have.

Seriously, this sounds stupid but Craigslist is a great source for weed in MMJ states.  The cops don't care and so people sell openly, I'm a former commercial grower and a lot of people I sold to resold on Craigslist to people who just didn't want to mess with getting a card.  It became so open before it went rec. that I even blew off my medical card because nobody cared anymore.  A lot of times you are getting closer to the grower and there is less overhead so you get better deals than with a dispensary.

Don't know much 'bout CL ppl w/these items - even less 'bout reliability/quality/security ...

If a mbr has experience w/a solid contact, can it be mentioned?

Mod? Help?

Ask them for pics of their buds, they list their cellphone numbers and it is not a secretive thing.  I've used craigslist for buds in Colorado to avoid dispensary prices, as well as viagra and cialis in WA (where I've sold buds on CL), never got a bad sack or bunk pills.  You just have to talk to the people, if they are not straight forward or you get a bad feeling, then on to the next spot.  Believe me there is no shortage of dealers in CA or CO, WA or OR; and the police don't care at all.  It really isn't a big deal.  I hate dispensaries, they are a rip off, besides you just get to look at the buds in a jar, its not like you get to really check them out and give them a squeeze.

I know when I visited Colorado no1 asked me for a card in the dispensaries, idk if California is stricter. I do know that 99.9% of the time Drs never refuse recommending a card to patients in CA. As MM is used to treat basically anything and everything plus keeps most people off the chemicals.

  4. D @ drdrizzy13: yeah i'd rather them win than the Pats
  5. shoutback @ shoutback: Oh and GO SEAHAWKS
  6. shoutback @ shoutback: Anyways I have to get ready to go on my run, it's been fun talking
  7. shoutback @ shoutback: I think when we have open discourse without preconceptions we all agree more than we disagree
  8. D @ drdrizzy13: Oh I totally agree and I agree the War on Drugs was and is a complete failure.
  9. shoutback @ shoutback: I'm not trying to say my point of view is better than others, just think we need to have more open and honest discussion about everything
  10. D @ drdrizzy13: You are right it probably doesn't. It has pretty much ruined my other first cousins live. He is so out there. It just sucks to see ya know. They take it to the extreme.
  11. shoutback @ shoutback: @drdrizzy13 your exoerience does not reflect the overall mainstream
  12. D @ drdrizzy13: yea for sure.
  13. shoutback @ shoutback: This is one of the few places in the internet where we can freely discuss this things and taking reactive stance like fentanyl and zenes are the devil do not promote a heathy discourse on the subject, though I understand admin also does not want to be under constant threat of people like the dea and fda
  14. D @ drdrizzy13: Honestly I can't think of any alcohoclis except for a friends Dad. I haven't drank in 10 years. I don't really hang around peole that drink or go to bars. I just hate being around drunks lol. And going to bars sucks if your not drinking too.
  15. shoutback @ shoutback: We don't work on something and do not continue developing with developing safeguards and appropriate treatment methods we adapt to what we learn. How many people do you know with alcohol addictions ? How many violent rapes and murders do we see happen under someone under the influence of alcohol yet alcohol is not demonized in the way fentanyl is and that affects much less people. Let's not be hypocritical. The prohibition model does not work and this is no place where we should be promoting it
  16. D @ drdrizzy13: I agree with that point.
  17. shoutback @ shoutback: They would not been sought after by mainstream users if things like heroin were not so criminalized
  18. D @ drdrizzy13: portugal demcrined drugs in 2001 for personal use. It worked for a while. They saw less ODs but now it says in recent years it has scene an increase in ODs and drug related crime. So i guess it worked there for a couple of decades lol
  19. shoutback @ shoutback: All drugs, every single one. The manner of dispensing them might be different but acrimilization and demonization is just terrible in practice and it's inmho genocidal behavior. What we are seeing with the fentanyl and zene crisis is an actual failing of these laws
