Benzos are extremely chemically stable.  Heat, light, humidity... These do not matter.  You might have been getting bunk product, but benzos don't degrade like that.  You couldn't be more wrong about the degradation of benzos.

@rockytop reagent tests are a safer way to go.  There are lots of chemicals that can taste similar to others.  Better to be safe, if you doubt your source, than sorry.

If they are the purple footballs, those are good. The kind that are sourced from China (depending on which brand you're looking at) are hit and miss.

Go in person.  Over the phone you have to give too much information.  Pay cash, in person, take some measures to protect yourself.  Also, people don't ask questions when you do it in person.

In my experience, exceptions happen due to some error of some sort.  I had an exception happen because my package from Amazon, of all places, got routed to a city 200 miles south of me.  Then it went out for delivery, I believe that they realized their fuck up and it showed up a few days later...
