User names and Protonmail email addresses Warning

Many members with Protonmail have been receiving scam emails claiming to be from vendors here.

The vendor name is spelled slightly different.

This is very important OPSEC to save your Protonmail from being hacked:
DO NOT use your DBG user name in your email!

If you are doing so, you need to either change your user name or your email.
 
It has come to my attention scammers are contacting members off their username here and just adding email domains. (Like Proton, gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc)

The scammers are using email addresses IDENTICAL to the real vendor's email but by 1 letter off,
mimicking other letters, using capital i's to look like small L's, etc. You need to triple check the email and at times it isn't even visible to the eye. You need to copy/paste it in txt file and search the correct email and compare with the scammers. You can also do this in most browsers (ctrl + F = search function)
The emails look alike, but upon further inspection ARE NOT.

@LW815 found a site that makes it easier to double check that the address you’re communicating with and the address posted here are the same - www.diffchecker.com - so even those that have trouble figuring out how to search a site/text document/note can easily check even the most deceitful scam addresses.

I urge all members that have the same DBG username/email to change their email address right away.
Your username at DBG and email address should not be alike at all.

The scammers see you commenting here on a vendor's thread and then take your DBG screen name and add all the email domains they can think off (Proton, gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc) and hope one works.

This is how they have been operating, every member that posted they have received the scam email/been scammed has the same username here and email address, so watch out!

Be wary if a vendor emails you first!
If it’s in the same email chain I would delete it all. Make a new email address, and make sure you copy-paste the address from the first post of a vendor's thread before proceeding.

Repeated reports of users that have the same DBG username as their email address are getting scam emails, targeting specific user/author combinations because they’re actively monitoring threads.

The only way to minimize them guessing your email address is to make sure that it is COMPLETELY different from your DBG username. This should really be standard practice across all applications/sites.

You can update the email associated with you DBG account through the settings. So I would recommend anyone that has the same username and email address go create a new email now, and update it in settings. CLICK YOUR USERNAME ON TOP AND THEN ACCOUNT DETAILS.

Also new members that are joining and have the same username and email will be automatically rejected.
An email will be sent to the registered email of your DBG account explaining why.

is it possible to change your username here?

This EXACTLY scam happened to me and I lost a four figure sum and I feel like a fool.

I'll be writing about it in more detail in a new review I'm writing about my favorite vendor (by a country mile) @iamgroot

Very true it’s important to encrypt layers of your life a public device which you use for social purposes, needs to have a different username than your sub surface ordering email and you need to have a completely different username when buying cryptocurrency. It is important to buy XRP or Montero using a non-KYC method to avoid detection by the federal government.

Groot is on the other side, approved and inaccessible without sponsorship - https://drugbuyersguide.info/forums/welcome-to-drugbuyers-sponsor-ranks-donations.6/ - they don't have Groot player or players in their email - just checked. Maybe you knew them before they were an approved vendor.

If you want to get in touch with them you'll need to become a sponsor.

Sorry to hear you got ripped but you should never assume an unsolicited email is genuine, the opposite in fact.

PS - If your email is guessable from your username change one of them so scammers can't send you unsolicited emails pretending to be vendors.

PPS - I see you posted your email addy in another thread. I'll report it and @Admin will delete it for you. Never post contact info in the forums, scammers will use it to take your 🪙

I’m a newer member here and I cannot tell you how many emails I have received from people pretending to be vendors on here. In an idiot and lost 4k between two of these scammers. Another new trick people have been doing is claiming the btc I sent as their own. So I’m glad to be a part of this community, I have tried one vendor called puremol and they are 10/10 on communication- my product was smashed in transit and they’re going to taker cate of Me! If anyone has any suggestions on how I can contribute u an here to help as much as possible!

Like I think some people need a break down of how this type of exploit is done like what are the attackers doing that are putting people at risk? Like give people steps to take to isolate the legit vendor from a fake so that way they can be like "ok this is vendors legit email like this is there mannerisms like anything outside these parameters are like sus!" Like for me, I notice pattern and shit, I can see things in a different way then others I notice these things and when things don't fit that I can see through that and ill fuck with these clowns, like not everyone thinks like I do, not everyone solves problems like others like some people need a little education thrown in their faces to spot certain things that way they become like 2nd nature, like stepping in dog shit, you smell it you can be mindful it's around you so your walking carefully, you spot it clean it,, problem avoided, but some things you can't be vague in, like lace us up, some of us can't see what some others can. That make any sense?
