    CashApp photo problem

I still haven't heard back from CashApp's customer service, and it's been about 48 hours now. I finally just purchased elsewhere. If I ever hear back from them, I might go ahead and set up an account since I've heard good things about them, but I'm not going to wait around either. And if I don't...

    CashApp photo problem

That's not the problem in my case. I live in one of the (surprising large) number of places that is still Real ID non-compliant. (I Googled that real quick to see if that information would be disclosing too much about my location and I'm surprised at how many states are still at least partially...

    CashApp photo problem

I'll try both of those and see what happens. You don't actually take your own CashApp photo. You hold up your ID and the app takes the photo for you. But lighting could still be affecting that. I'll give both a whirl. Thanks! A quick Google search suggests that CashApp has been having problems...

    CashApp photo problem

I'm trying to set up a CashApp account, but it won't take a photo of the back of my ID. You can't just take your own photo. The app has to take it for you. You get a little box, it locks on your ID, and then it takes the photo. It will do this with the front of my ID, but with the back, the box...

    Captcha problems

Ironically enough, when I went to post that last message, I DID get the Captcha again! But I can handle getting it once in a while, just not every single click! I'll follow up again if it seems to still be happening a lot.

    Captcha problems

Thanks! That does seem to have taken care of it! Knock on wood, anyway....I haven't gotten the Captcha the last couple times I've clicked on something.... I was curious, too, to see if others were having the same problem, but it was so frustrating to try to look through the forum with that...

    Captcha problems

I understand why Captcha was added, due to attacks on the site, but it's making the site virtually unusable for me. I have to redo Captcha in between every single page I open. So, I click on, say, "Site Feedback"---I have to do Captcha to open it. Then if I want to read a topic---have to do...

    Donation questions

Out of curiosity, I just checked my profile and that shows the date that I joined. For some people, that may vary from the date that they donated, but at least it provides some idea. It took me a couple weeks to figure out bitcoin, so I know my join date is at least that much earlier than my...

    Donation questions

Do we receive a notice when our sponsorship is up for renewal? I know vaguely when mine is up, but I'd like to avoid it lapsing.

    Donation questions

I just re-read this message more closely. @earls is right. You need to download a personal wallet. That's the glitch here. CashApp and others aren't going to let you transfer directly to DBG. Go to Electrum and follow their instructions. There are also really, really good detailed instructions...

    Donation questions

I'm not sure that you're doing anything wrong. Try searching the forum, because I have seen threads on here where people were having trouble with DBG's wallet. I don't know if they've recently changed their wallet, but I don't think so. And if they did, I imagine admin would remove the old...

    Donation questions

It's in your personal wallet now? Not in your account on the site where you bought it? If it's in your personal wallet now, then you just follow the same process as transferring it to your own wallet, except you use the number of the person  or business that you want to send it to. So if you're...

Price of donation, in USD or Bitcoin

You could theoretically lose or gain. I've had both happen, although not in very large amounts. Coinbase will only make you wait that long the first time. After that, it's relatively quick (hours to maybe a day, tops), but there are limits to how much you can buy at once. If you wanted to buy...

Bitcoin: Explain it like I'm 5?

Create your own personal wallet first, using Electrum or a similar site. You'll have to set up a whole chain of keywords to do this. Then transfer your bitcoin into your personal wallet FIRST. Always do that first. THEN transfer it to the site or your vendor or whoever. Don't transfer coin...

    I want to hang myself

Check out the "Intro to Bitcoin and Wallet Walkthrough" thread, which has the best tutorial I've seen yet. There are also some helpful tips on the "Explain it Like I'm 5" thread. You can do it! We were once in your shoes. Someday you'll look back and wonder...how did I ever think this was so...

Intro to bitcoin and wallets walkthrough

This is the awesome! It's the guide I wish I'd had when I made my first bitcoin transactions! I do have a few questions: 1) The first time I used Coinbase, it took 11 days before my bitcoin was released. (Yes, 11, not some sensible number like 7 or 14, or even 5 or 10.) I almost didn't use it...

Buying Bitcoins safe and cheap from USA

I think that happens the first time and it's just a few hours after that. At least, that's been my own experience so far.

    Donation questions

Only thing I can think of would be to open a bank account. I don't have a smartphone either, but that hasn't presented any problems for me. The bitcoin ATMs are expensive and rare. The closest one to me is something like six hours away. I have yet to hear of fees on them that aren't highway...

    Donation questions

You have ID? Because I don't think you need a driver's license. You should be able to use any form of government ID. I'm not even sure you need that with Coinbase so long as you have a bank account.

    Donation questions

Check out the "Bitcoin: Explain it like I'm 5" thread. There's some good instructions in that thread. Basically, you download a "wallet," then you buy your bitcoin (that's usually the trickiest part, because you have to find a vendor that will work with your bank and is established enough to not...

  1. Strawhat7 @ Strawhat7: Yo, whatever happened to Mr. Black? Just got a rando email from him after ghosting me like a year and a half ago
  2. LW815 @ LW815: Know what’s really going on in somebody else’s head or how much they’re really dealing with and feel like they’re left with no other options. Been a very sad few days but 2 complete (irl anyway) strangers cared enough about what I was going through to talk to me about it, though they owe me nothing and have no reason to help my personal pain other than the kindness in their own hearts. Just shows that this place is a real community, not just a forum of people who only care about themselves.
  3. LW815 @ LW815: Was nodding in/out the entire time writing those shouts and spparently was fully out sending the last one lol. But II find it ‘uplifting’ as two people I’ve never actually met and only know the others online presence through subscriptions, who I have a better chance of getting a handy J from Jesus Christ himself, both were so quick to share their own experience and wise words and assurances that things will look up and not to feel guilty or be mad at somebody for going that route - as you never
  4. xenxra @ xenxra: @hotdog45 meh, same difference. they both got blacklisted on here. wouldn't be the first time a rogue shop sent out unsolicited comms after the fact.

  6. LW815 @ LW815: Own personal experience with this kind of this type kind of situation and sympathized with my pain when I really just needed somebody to talk to. Both went out of their way to help a stranger in a time of need when I really needed somebody, and body to talk to. MM
  7. LW815 @ LW815: Sent a simple conf email and I just dropped a ball on them. I really just needed to let it out, didn’t expect them to reply in such a thoughtful way that it drastically changed the rest of my day and mindset for the bette . Above and beyond - and the last night while chatting with another that I knew had at least once one child,, so i wished them a belated happy Father’s Day, which again caused me to spill it all to them and again received the most thoughtful and kind response, as well as their-
  8. LW815 @ LW815: They didn’t need to. They could have just continued on with the nature or the main purpose of what the relationship between us is, I didn’t really have anybody else to let it out to at the time and they both went far beyond what I’d expect. Not that I’d assumed they’re cold/A-holes - it was just a lot from somebody who’s technically a competent stranger. A very close friend of mine committed suicide on Father’s Day and iwas emotionally wrecked witih nobody to talk to, and the first author just
  9. LW815 @ LW815: @Mokachin0 not really uplifting in the normal sense, but two popular authors on here took the time out of their likely very busy days to not only read my massive walls of text, but both also replied with the most kind, thoughtful and positive responses when I randomly dumped my personal problems into their laps
  10. H @ hotdog45: I have never ordered mags from him I meant
  11. H @ hotdog45: @xenxra I thought that too but after digging on the site it is chemical cabinet. Either way I deleted the email. I have ordered mags from him, but I thought you guys should know he's reaching out to people again. After reading the thread if anyone gets an email from him I would suggest doing the same.
  12. xenxra @ xenxra: @hotdog45 isn't that ghost? he threw his rep in the trash and got blacklisted
