It works best orally but tastes like shit so you may want to drop it in a capsule. The recommended dose if you're using it medicinally is 12.5 mg 3 times a day. It has a short half life.

How does a kava extract compare to fresh root? I've only tried the extract (w 70 mg kavalactones per capsule) & got a nice effect from 1 & really nice from 2. The root appears to be cheaper but is it weaker?
