I'm back on the wagon to lose some pounds for the new year. Feeling a little fluffy! I thought it would be fun to get a group together to keep motivation up.

I was thinking we could do our measurements and take before pics of at least the scale holding something with the date in the picture. We could have some sort of challenge where whomever loses the most weight gets some sort of prize. I'll even personally throw in the prize, say $200? That will def motivate me to win so I can keep my money! But I'll gladly hand it over to the winner if it's not me. I want to motivate people to be healthy!

Anyway, headed to the store tomorrow after work to get my groceries. Personally I'm doing the Beachbody 21 day fix. I did it last year with great results. It comes with containers for each type of food. (Carbs, fat, protein, etc) and workout dvd's. I'm not going to use their recommended protein shake, shakeology cause it's $130 for a 30 day supply bag. Ridic! This plan really teaches you the right way to eat and makes exercising fun. And trust me, I've done pretty much every diet plan or gimmick out there. This one is a winner in my book.

Let's do this!

I wish you luck, but my resolution this year is financial. Gotta stop the bleeding! 2014 was not prosperous at the 2earls household. The challenge will be, how to have fun while reducing vices. Less gambling, ordering, etc.

I suppose less eating would save $ as well!

Yeah not a good year for me financially either. But hey, you have a point, less eating, less $$! But eating healthy is by no means cheap. In fact, I'll prob spend at least an extra $100 every two weeks. But I'm obsessed with my weight.

beachgirl, I think your idea of a contest is really cute but good luck finding any women who would post a picture of themselves standing on a scale (especially the before picture) unless they only had like 5lbs. to lose /default_smile.png

Yep Suzie

If I was 115 trying to get to 110 I might post the picture! Hope there is someone brave enough. I could use that $200 though......

I like the use of the word 'fluffy' : )...

I may use that line for the larger girls I meet!

Unless you're really "fluffy," you might want to use some kind of %weight lost criterion instead of raw weight, otherwise the most "fluffy" of people will likely take your 200 bucks. For instance, someone going from 140lbs to 120lbs is more impressive than someone going from 350lbs to 325lbs. The latter lost around 7% mass while the former around 14%.

Or maybe, just maybe, I'm rigging the thing so that a skinny guy like me can nab some (potentially) easy money. I think with a GOMAD (gallon of milk a day) diet, I could possibly achieve a maximum ~17% change in mass if I let myself fall to a rather unhealthy temporary weight. (Is the concentration camp look back in style?) At the very least, I could do a 7-9% mass loss with little effort.

I'll have to see what the prize pool and competition looks like before (and if) I accept the challenge. Or you can go ahead and disqualify me...

I'm not really fluffy. I just feel it! If you asked anyone who knows me, I don't need to lose weight. But I'm hard on myself (can't help it!) and feel like I need to lose about 20 pounds to get ready for summer. 😏

I love the word fluffy!

You're absolutely right. All the diet pools that are going around are by percentage. That's definitely how I'd wanna do it. I'm still waiting for more people to wanna do it! In the meantime, I've already gotten to working on it.
