Looks like you have a thread similar to this one but it was started by a real DOUCHE BAG who has been banned. So, any 80's junkies? Join me if you will in reliving the best decade of music in the history of man kind.

And it just seems right to start with...

David Bowie - Let's Dance

Also is there a way to insert the video in the post? I'm a fucking tard...you will find this out on your own but I thought I would just get it out in the open.

I have to agree with you Ubersmash.  I am a child of the 80's and was primarily a metal head.  I think the 80's are so underrated musically and people have no appreciation for some of the sounds that came out during that time period.   A lot of the pop music that came out in the 80's via MTV was/is actually pretty good.   I am amazed at how many Duran Duran songs I can still song.....or how I can remember certain things when I hear a Culture Club song.  (and yes I know the lyrics) .  Its funny...back then I would never admit to liking those bands because it might reflect on my masculinity among my peer group but now I have no problem riding around in my truck and singing "Hungry Like the Wolf"

I think  "Girls on Film" is one of the sexiest songs ever done and I miss some of the girl bands like Bananarama singing Venus, The Bangles or The Go Gos! Mmmm  Belinda Carlisle Mmmmm

A lot of great tunes from the 80's

If you don't like this sound track I hope your entrails fall out on a regular basis...

Breakfast Club Sound Track

Just to get my Sunday started right...

I also like Frente's cover.

If you don't feel great listening to this song than one of two things are true about you:

1) You have sex with deflated blow up dolls.

or

2) You enjoy smelling your grandma's dentures.

These statements have been evaluated by the FDA and found to be 100% accurate.

GODDAMIT

i LOVE new order!!!!!! love this song especially!!!!!!!

What's awesome about this Cat is no one knows what in the hell we are talking about :)

To all the participants of this thread "The 80's was the best decade bar none for punk rock, metal and MTV pop music". I agree with you.

I graduated high school in 1982 and though my favorite was all the schools of punk rock (there were many: Sex Pistols, Goth, etc.) I loved metal too. Even the new (at the time) was MTV - and they produced some of the best "pop" music out there. MTV doesn't even produce music anymore - unless you go to the dark recessing of cable.

IMO the 90's and subsequent years produced some of the worse "pop" music, with now all sorts of tracked music that doesn't count as music. Of course I was never a fan of grunge and pop music that had no sustenance. You don't have to agree with me here, but that is MY OPINION.

It is a shame. Metal turned into screaming, not the fine tuning of Lemmy (who died this week too), punk disappeared, and all we have now butt grinding to either singers who cannot sing or rap/hip hop who is popular with white youth who if they knew what they were about would would be appalled! Come on - money, sex romps and killing law enforcement is not a part of the young, white persons world.

It is a shame (again my opinion) that all the pop musicians are the same twerking and close ups of the face of "stars" making love to the camera. I can't even tell the difference between them!

@ubersmash  does it make me a bad person if I like the song above and listen to it while smelling my grandmas dentures and having sex with a blow up doll?  I hope not....

Of course not...you mentioned nothing about the blow up doll being "deflated" so you are gold!

I was primarily a metal head in the 80's enjoying such musical acts as Iron Maiden (still love Maiden), Ac/Dc, Black Sabbath and Ozzy Ozbourne.  The first album I ever purchased was Speak of the Devil by Ozzy....my Mom saw it and about had a heart attack.    As I got into high school I fell in love with U2.  I think their best album is October and I stopped listening to them after the Joshua Tree as I think they got a little full  of themselves.   I also really loved the Cure.   One of my favorite songs to this day is "Close to me" it has a sexiness to it and the lyrics really speak to me.....It also reminds me of the 20 or 30 different crushes and girlfriends that I would make mix tapes for featuring this song.

New order, Substance, first Album I ever bought. I seen ABC perform the "Lexicon of Love" album  and other assorted live greatest hits in November last year. It was actually just Martin Fry with an orchestra and bass Guitar etc, but fantastic. He's still got the voice!

Pop music of the 80s easily beats the current filth we have today. I really can't put into words how much I love the hip hop (so called) culture. Eugh. Poisoning so much.

I still listen to Joy Division a lot (Closer was released in 1980, so just makes it) It really is incredible. The songs Decades or Twenty Four Hours really are sublime. New Order, too, another one I listen to a lot. The Perfect Kiss being my favourite maybe. Joy Divsion seems to have been hijacked by the hipsters, which is a shame.

I can still listen to 'Pornography' by The Cure, brilliant music.

And a confession of mine is that I used to like the Pet Shop Boys...that was when I was very young.

But I've moved well and truly into underground Black Metal territory. Far beyond rubbish like korn, or whatever the hell it is. Nu Metal, hahaha.

My favorite Pet Shop Boy's song...

Right, I'll indulge in my old Pet Shop Boys obsession. Best song for me was always 'It's A Sin', very good song. Was that from the album 'Actually'? I can't remember, but I had that on tape as a kid (in mid 20s now, so time scales a bit odd), but so many songs from that I loved. Do you remember the song 'New York City Boy'? I remember that on TOTP, when they had orange hair dye. So ridiculous... and yeah, I loved it at the time, haha. I could think of more, but I'm a little zonked out at the moment... One in a million (I think), loved that song. Not to mention...'Always on my mind!'

Oh, and on the David Bowie theme, 'Low' was one of my favourites by his. I know that was late 70s (I think), but I thought it brilliant.

See, I listen to the most despair filled, hateful, misanthropic black metal music now, bands no-one knows, and I have a soft spot for things like this! Usually keep it quite hidden, though, haha. Although quite rarely since I got filled with music made of half rage, half dreams.

But modern pop music, 'twerking', the sexualisation, it makes me want to cry...a generation is growing up with this now...

Awesome to speak to like-minded folk on this. =)

Here ya go...

"twerking" should illegal...bunch a ass clowns!

and to make myself fell better I'm gonna play this...
