It's not an uncommon practice in the smartphone era: recording instructions you need to recall later. A patient in Virginia says he used his phone to do just that prior to his April 18, 2013, colonoscopy—and accidentally left it recording during the whole procedure.

Upon pressing play on the ride home, "DB" learned his doctors had mocked him relentlessly throughout it, and now the Vienna man has learned what he'll get for being referred to by anesthesiologist Tiffany Ingham as "probably" having "tuberculosis in the penis": $50,000 for that tuberculosis comment alone, as part of a $500,000 payout.

The defamation portion included another $50,000 tied to Ingham warning an assistant not to touch a genital rash DB had, noting she might get "some syphilis on your arm or something" (Ingham then dubbed the rash's source the aforementioned penile tuberculosis).

Ingham also reportedly called the Vienna man a "big wimp" and a "retard," joked about firing a gun up his rectum, made fun of his alma mater (the University of Mary Washington), and threatened to falsely note on his chart that he had hemorrhoids, reports Courthouse News Service.

(The Washington Post reports she did indeed note that he had hemorrhoids; it has audio excerpts here.) The jury also awarded another $200,000 in punitive damages and $200,000 for medical malpractice after the three-day trial, in which her lawyers tried to argue the recording wasn't legal—but it turns out that, as a one-consent state, DB didn't need Ingham's OK to record.

The Post reports it couldn't reach Ingham for comment, but it did verify that the 42-year-old, who has since moved to Florida, no longer works for a practice it phoned there.

(Another man sued his insurer over his penis.)

"couldn't reach for comment" hahahaha, what a toby jug. (mug)

That is terrible that he would do that to a person. Well someone is well off now because of the idiot.

I love hearing about these self righteous clowns getting their just desserts all because of a recording device catching them being their true selves. She absolutely deserved to be fired and fined. She should be striped of any medical accreditations for filling false findings as well. She thought she was being funny while he laughs all the way to the bank, lol.

I still want to know how the cell phone went into the procedure room. AmI missing something?  Was it on the bed by his body?  Wouldnt they see it when they "turned" him.  I dont know.  I had the same procedure and i couldnt have brought a cell phone with me

regardless, how rude and awful.  You cannot talk about sleeping patients like That.  Have some flipping respect

I read he brought it in to record the post op instructions he was being given by the surgeon and just left it on.

when they give you versed prior to an operation it's almost like truth serum. my boyfriend when he was younger once went to go see his best friend's father to have his wisdom teeth removed. He was horrified. Another woman that I know scandalously told the doctor, her surgeon, just what she's like to do to him while she was the first being put under. She was friends with the receptionist who later told her, and she switched office is altogether out of shame.

I saw this on the news last night. I wonder if any of my surgeons wanted to punch me in the face. Hopefully they were professional enough to keep it to themselves. I'm surprised none of her assistants turned her in since I doubt this was the one and only time she ran her mouth.

The friend of my friend made her paranoid because then she had a crush on her podiatrist.  My ma took pre meds for a procedure and I call the same docs to ask about a patient from my work and the doc laughed,  said she had been telling him all day about her smart, pretty daughter....trying to sell me off. I was 9 mos pregnant.  I laughed and apologized

  2. st1ckyf1ng4z @ st1ckyf1ng4z: @MorfineOrfan I couldn’t agree more, bro. It’s fucked up. I recognize prices will rise, but it will always be available…. Stock up now while you can at least if you’re preferred read is opiates. As an ex-fentanyl addict I won’t ever touch any of that shit again. I remember when I started to see 7oh pop up, I knew it was going to end like this but I can understand getting rid of 7oh/mgm-15/16. With that being said, they should leave plain leaf alone!
  3. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: @st1ckyf1ng4z oh trust, i know that, im helping a pretty big vendor transition, to here and dnm , but prices are going to rise bc of risk. But availability is only part of this whole kratom alks situation. We have a serious problem with society. Last year alcohol killed 178,000 people, last year all other drugs combined killed 69,973 Out of those 38,084 were from opiate/opioids and out of those 0 were killed by 7oh. With these numbers we can see the problem with banning 7oh

  12. st1ckyf1ng4z @ st1ckyf1ng4z: @MorfineOrfan @nameofuser11 @RiftChems @moai Just because they’re “banning/scheduling” something, doesn’t mean it’s not gonna be available. If you know where to look, it won’t be a problem.
  13. T @ theweedman: hellooo everyone! hola! salut!

  18. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: Set a reasonable limit. Hell fucking make it like buying cold medicine where they swipe your id and you can't get a bunch. But we know this isn't about logic or public safety. It's about money and control.
  19. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: AKA are such a bunch of fucking capitalist traitors. The liquor lobby has a lot of money in this as well.
  20. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: The major plain leaf companies and the AKA are the ones lobbying against 7 and the other semi-sythetic derivatives, mgm this that and the other. We all know the chemist are just gonna mess with the scaffolding of the compounds and come out with new and even better semi-sythetic alkoloids of kratom. They are already playing with cats-claw
