I have always wanted to act. When I was 16 living with my then high school sweetheart (great parents right?), I had signed up with a casting agency and was contacted by people from a soon to be very famous, Emmy winning series about "football" lol. It was a small extra as cheerleader.

May have given it away lol....

anyhow, my then self let my boyfriend tell me how he couldn't be with someone famous, big mistake I made dodging the drive to central TX for my start....?

But now I am in my prime age and done having kids, I want to act for real this time..

If anyone knows the first step I should take, I'd appreciate it. I am 27 now and can taste the drive in me to act. I am very good at it. Also I am in Tejas so I really don't know what to do here.....

I actually acted in a film a few years ago. I was casted by a friend who knew of special equipment and locations of where they wanted to shoot in the redwoods and the director thought I fit the part for the local law enforcement scenes. It was a blast. I am naturally outgoing and I can memorize lines and conform to my surroundings really well. I've had other offers since that time and I've declined. Mostly because of the timing of the film dates and locations were several hours away.

One of the scenes I did I actually get into a heavy gun fight. Honestly one of the best few weeks ever. Yah you have to do the scenes over and over again but it was all entertainment to me. The pay wad verrry generous for my time. So it made me think it was something I'd pursue more but the stars haven't aligned for me again. But they will if the parts right.

Sorry I won't say what movie since it totally give away my identity but it had an A list actor and several B lists as supporting actors. The director loves it here. I am sure with enough digging and you looked up where I live you can find it but I'll let you hunt for it if you really want to know.

So my advice to you is try out for a part and do it if you have the time. I say being a famous actor is all luck. The main actor I worked with started out like me with knowing someone and them taking a chance on them. Oh and they feed you so good on set. Just thought you might like hearing that part.

Go chase your dreams. The universe is the limit. :)

I would look into some of the more reputable schools in your area and see if they have acting classes. A lot more goes into acting than people think. You can take voice classes, beginner classes and so on. When I was in college I took a couple and actually learned a lot about acting and myself.

  2. D @ drdso: It's scary now fr. I'm guessing we're gonna see a lot of exit scammers for former "reputable" veteran vendors. These tariffs/supply chain issues are causing them not to receive product due to seizure/denial. At a certain point they gotta get there money somewhere. Just be careful who you buy from y'all
  3. T @ timyboy: How ya'll doin
  4. D @ dichlorodavid: Ah thanks for the clarity on the strike. I wasnt aware that this is cont'd from the 2024 strike. Hope they reach terms this time (quickly!)

  10. Alkazar @ Alkazar: It is really annoying\
  11. Alkazar @ Alkazar: Technically they were forced back to work the last time they went on strike in 2024, so this is the same strike for the same reasons in 2025.
  12. Alkazar @ Alkazar: I dont know how to direct reply to people on here. But the Canada Post strike will affect any mail coming from the US. It will be held at a facility until the striek is over. Mail that is being sent from CAD to the US will just not be picked up. It all has to be private delivery services now.
