I know I come up with some random topics, but our central AC/ furnace is malfunctioning.

The problem is that the fan will not turn off at all. It still blows cold air and all but the only way to turn it off is to flip the breaker. Tried replacing the thermostat in hopes of a cheap fix and of course that didn't work. Really don't want to call a repairmen out after taking it in the ass on taxes last month. Husband is sort of handy so if we can DIY this it would be great.

@2earls  Had this happen once, and it ended up being a stuck fan relay.   Sucks when stuff goes out!  My system just died and having to wait and wait and wait and wait for all the warranty stuff to go through so the units can get replaced.  SO ANNOYING dealing with warranty sometimes.  Side note: never buy LG lol.

@DoomKittythat's what the husband thinks it is. I am clueless and only found out today we have to get on the roof to access it. I don't know if he's up to it after working 6 days this week but I will offer to hold the ladder. I'm not scared of heights but I am old enough to wonder if I should be climbing ladders. Besides I have nothing to offer other than moral support.

So you replaced yours rather than fixing it? I wonder if it is an easy repair or way over our heads?

@2earls  Oh i fixed it.   I had a friend help me who knows more about that kind of thing.  With the type i had at the time it was pretty easy.  At least from what i remember lol.  It was at a different place i lived a while ago.   Where i live now has those mini-splits things.  But the units are leaking freon apparently and have to get replaced, so for now I'm making do with a window unit.  At least it's not heaps hot yet where i live.  You could probably google the model number to see how easy of a fix for your unit it would be.  I think with mine i even found a youtube vid with my same model which makes it lots easier.

  8. CalFresh @ CalFresh: Thanks everyone. My family and I are safe ATM. @mellowella thank you, but they cleaned me out. the shelves are empty but I'm hoping to call in some favors to restock ASAP. @xenxra I will reach out to set up a secure comms channel for us. Thanks again all. Yesterday was tough, but the support I've received from those I can share is with has been a Godsend.
  9. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Mad love to you and your family @CalFresh
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @CalFresh if you are able to DM me (in a secure manner) the transactions associated with your btc theft, i can look into that part for you at least. i;m still 99% certain if the fbi didn't discard my leads they could have gotten some of my coins back and considering you had your coins stolen within the us, you have a much better chance of recovery than me. unless they went through mixers i could probably trace them myself.
  11. O @ Outsider9173: @CalFresh Haven't been here long but I want to wish you a fast recovery

  16. mellowella @ mellowella: I will always remember what you did for me the very first time I donated. I have been waiting to pay that kindness forward.
  17. mellowella @ mellowella: @CalFresh are you and your family safe? You’ve helped me in a pinch and were more than generous, and I’m sure you’ve helped others. How can we help you? Does it help at all if we completely buy out what’s left? Maybe that gives time and funds to restock and rebuild? I don’t want to break any rules here, but please let us know if we can do anything. All on your time of course.
  18. CalFresh @ CalFresh: thanks guys. I'm pulling together what I have left and leaning on the kindness of folks who support me to restock my shelves so that I can keep the lights on. Having my savings drained and my security vanish in an instant is paralyzing and the repercussions will only be realized in the coming days and weeks. for now I'm just trying to stay focused on the immediate priorities for ensuring this doesn't. cause cataclysmic failure to the life I've built for my children and I.
  19. H @ hotdog45: @CalFresh hey man if I can do anything, anything at all to help you get back on your feet let me know. Truly my heart goes out to you. I sent you an email also
  20. G @ gfunkster: @CalFresh im really sorry to hear that. But remember karma is real my man. They just fd their karma for a long time.
