Anyone Use Baclofen?

I have tried all the muscle relaxers mentioned & I think soma is the best. I take it with my pain meds & I think they enhance my pain meds. That's just my personal choice.Flexeril just made me sleepy.

I've had the whole muscle relaxer sampler too and baclofen is okay though I prefer soma.

Possibly good for anxiety / alcoholism / addiction.

I have started a thread about that particular use for Baclofen, somewhere on the site.

I think flexeril helps with muscle spasms the best, som@ is great for sending me to outer space but doesn't work so well for spasms. I'm going to try baclofen for restless legs.

I have used baclofen as prescribed by my orthopedist for back pain. It did nothing to help (bad) and did not have any sedating effects on me (good). Isn't it interesting how many varied results there are on the same drug?!

Yes, I must agree - baclofen was not great for me either. I got much better muscle relaxation from the benzos, like di@zepam, so that's what I would use for any muscle spasms or mucle aches etc.

Had a doc prescribe Baclofen for my neck pain and it was useless. Didn't even make me sleepy which was weird considering people talk about the drowsy effects. Doc gave me two refills and I have yet to get it refilled. I once combined it with Gabapentin and still no pain relief. Just all around useless drug for me. My brother took it for his back pain and he had to cut it in half because it made him drowsy. I was like WOW! I guess I have a weird body. As far as I know, I don't have a tolerance for any drug cause I don't take anything longterm.

I was given a script for bacl@fen  after injuring back at work, did nothing but make me super sleepy and messed with my stomach. never refilled it

Sometimes I think baclofen is doing something, other times I feel it's like a sugar pill. It improves mood initially, I think, but then in the long run makes it more unstable. I've stopped trying to use it. Side-effects otherwise non-existent, and very cheap. Worth a go, some people report great things with it, especially alcoholics.

I was given lofexodene (forgive spelling) over 20 years ago for help with opiate wds, little orange pills that made me really drowsy the nxt day.Baclofen sounds very similar or the same?.Anyway they were pretty useless and I think the docs at the time were trying all sorts of meds other than m/done.As usual what works with one person does nothing for another as I do know at least one person who managed to clean up they're act with them...

Bliss. ......

Baclofen didn't even touch my pain.... a box of Cheerios had the same effect.

I have a pretty extensive experience with baclofen and really like it. It can be used for therapeuthic as well recreational purposes.

Baclofen acts on gabaB receptor  - like GHB/GBL/BDO, phenibut, pregabalin and gabapentin.

Baclofen in high dose (for me it's 100-125mg - please do not take such high doses with before no trials with lower) give me high very similar to GHB, very antidepressive and social.

Baclofen in low doses around 25mg its very useful muscle relaxant.

Can be also used as benzo alternative and for prevent insomnia.

Anyway baclofen cause physical dependency so must be taken with care and best not take day by day.

Be careful with baclofen. It can cause physical dependence after even two days with high doses!

Got 2 bottles, with , I think,  30 or 50 10mg pills of it. Absolutely zero effect. Even when I took 5 at once. Would have thought they were sugar pills if the bottles weren't sealed with foil. Wouldn't waste another cent on them.

PLEASE PLEASE be careful using Baclofen. I had it prescribed to me by my GP for muscle spasms. I took three x 5mg on day one and  it had no effect on me at all. On day two I took about eight out of sheer desperation and had a massive bad reaction with severe and agonising pain in all parts of my body, migraine like headache, hyper sensitive hearing (I now have bad tinnitus in one ear and hearing loss) , dizziness, numbness in my arms and legs, temporary paralysis, flashing lights in vision, incontinence, inability to speak and nausea. I had to have paramedics out twice in 24 hours. It was singularly the most terrifying time of my life. BE CAREFUL GUYS.

Hi @Woolius the RLS was obviously the reason my doctor scripted baclofen for opiate issues, however they did SQUAT for me.At one  point the GP gave my solpadol effervescent for opiate addiction also.Thank god I  started seeing a cpn who actually gave me the correct Meds for my issues after over 5 yrs of getting fobbed off with Meds that hardly helped  (if atoll).

Thinking back the Solpadol did help for about 30 mins after taking them but who wants to re-dose that many times not to mention the amount needed daily and the harm to my liver😬.

Bliss. . . .

My father uses baclofen, says it works wonders and he has two or three slipped discs in his lower back. They don’t do much for me except give me loose poo.

I’ve been using it for 3 years. It’s a heavy duty muscle relaxer and works well for low back spasms. Taken in higher than prescribed doses causes sleepiness, lethargy and gait (problems walking) instability. It’s not something to abuse or get you high. It’s a serious neurological medicine and can cause muscle wasting with long term use. Not sure if this helps but perhaps you should consider another type if the side effect you mentioned is a problem. Good luck.  IMHO unless you have serious back or neck issues a 5 mg va***um works quickly without side effects.

  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @hiTillidie i basically gave them a report showing them where they could seize coins from but they decided to do their own tracing and just pointed out the areas that weren't recoverable even though it was already emphasized in the report i gave themm. i bet if i lost 10x as much they would have gotten it back.
