I just used Bitcoin to renew my sponsorship here on DBG and thought I would share my experience.
Last year I lost my Coinbase account after I donated to DBG, just like several other members have posted. Obviously Coinbase assumes we are all drug dealers so they want nothing to do with us.
But I found out that the key to making it work is to only donate to DBG from an electronic wallet, not from a BTC exchange like Coinbase or Kraken.
I only needed two apps to make it work; Cash App and Green Wallet, both free and downloadable from the Apple App store. I am sure Google Play has the same apps.
First I bought my coin using the Cash App. You have to verify your identity with Cash App before you can send your BTC to anyone else but that only took about a day. You use the Cash App to capture a picture of both sides of your DL or other picture ID, and a current picture of yourself. They denied my request the first time because my pics were not clear enough but the second time I tried it worked perfectly. I was approved in just a few hours.
Next, I downloaded Green Wallet and setup the security for it; strong password, mnemonic phrase, a PIN, and I also turned on Face ID. I am not sure how secure the app is overall, but it's popular, very easy to use, and I don't ever plan on using it to send more than $30-$50 at a time. And not for storage either. I will research it a bit more, including more apps if I decide to get into storing a lot of Bitcoin.
After you setup your Green Wallet, just transfer your BTC from Cash App to your Green Wallet (or other electronic wallet). It takes about 10-20 minutes before your funds appear in your wallet.
Next, use your Green Wallet to send the appropriate amount to DBG. Easy and anonomous too!
BTW, I also registered with Blockchain.com but realized I did need it when I used the electronic wallet.
