Hi,

Is anyone willing to PM with me to help me set up bitcoin? I'm older and have never used it before, and I honestly have tried to once and couldn't figure it out. I'm not stupid, I promise, but it just doesn't make sense to me. I've looked at a few online tutorials but they kind of assume you know the lingo, which I do not. Would be much obliged if anyone is willing to help an old lady!

Katrina, I'm old and not too bright. I cannot figure this stuff out! Driving me crazy! If you found some easier method than me reading the entire internet, please let me know!

Peace!

Jim

Get a private wallet. Buy coins. Then transfer to private wallet.  Then repeat

Hey guys, try looking in the welcome to DBG section under donation questions and there is a great guide by member Heircroc1 and a real "bitcoin for dummies" pinned post by me.

They are both intended for people who have no clue about bitcoins and I am still learning myself, but I always say that if I could get it then anyone can. Not an expert but know just enough to make a transaction.

Don’t go to coinbase. They are nasty. Don’t even have to do anything for them to decide to close your account and hold your money to figure things out

  1. D @ drdso: It's scary now fr. I'm guessing we're gonna see a lot of exit scammers for former "reputable" veteran vendors. These tariffs/supply chain issues are causing them not to receive product due to seizure/denial. At a certain point they gotta get there money somewhere. Just be careful who you buy from y'all
  2. T @ timyboy: How ya'll doin
  3. D @ dichlorodavid: Ah thanks for the clarity on the strike. I wasnt aware that this is cont'd from the 2024 strike. Hope they reach terms this time (quickly!)

  8. xenxra @ xenxra: i'm surprised none of the CA-US shops have a notice up about it
  9. Alkazar @ Alkazar: It is really annoying\
  10. Alkazar @ Alkazar: Technically they were forced back to work the last time they went on strike in 2024, so this is the same strike for the same reasons in 2025.
  11. Alkazar @ Alkazar: I dont know how to direct reply to people on here. But the Canada Post strike will affect any mail coming from the US. It will be held at a facility until the striek is over. Mail that is being sent from CAD to the US will just not be picked up. It all has to be private delivery services now.
  12. Z @ zdaBa: Happy Saturday, love you all <3

  16. xenxra @ xenxra: @LW815 from my experience, CP strikes usually tend to leave the snails alone
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: I hardly knew her!
  18. C @ Callmejonah: methadone
  19. LW815 @ LW815: @Alkazar would that effect snail mail arriving to the US from CA in any impactful way?
  20. CnC5 @ CnC5: @Alkazar wow again? Smh!
