Hi , I have a question about does anyone have burning mouth? Gums feel like they are burning or just general burning pain , stinging inside your mouth. I know on the internet Burning Mouth Syndrome is a real problem for some and they have no cure. I don’t know if I have that or not but I thought maybe someone knows a little more about this on here. I have been to dentist, dr , specialist and they don’t know why this burning happens every few years to me. It lasts all day and I have this for about 4 months then it just goes away like nothing happened. It’s very strange. Chewing sugarless gum does help a little but not much. Pain meds do not work or nerve medication. Anyone ever hear of this before? Thanks.

That’s awful. Did you start any new meds? Some do cause mouth symptoms including burning. I hope you find out soon and feel better!

Thank you Gracie.. No I didn’t start any kind of new medication. It’s been going on for 6 years now with this being the 3rd time getting it. It’s been in remission for 2 years now so I thought it wasn’t going to come back and I beat it. 2 months ago i woke up and sure enough my gums were burning with stinging symptoms. That’s when I knew it came back. That’s how it happens. Just starts burning on it own and every time this has happened to me, , it lasts for 4 to 5 months. The 2 other times it was for 5 months. The weird thing about this is when it decides to stop burning or stinging my gums , it just goes away and it’s like nothing ever happened in those 5 months. No warning on getting it or when it goes away. Like I said, I have seen my Dr and we tried everything 6 years ago from pain meds to nerve meds then he sent me to a specialist that only dealt with people with burning mouth syndrome or whatever they call it. I do know Burning Mouth Syndrome according to the Drs who have heard of it told me they don’t have a cure for it. The dentist i went to see 2 different times, they both never even heard about this before. It’s strange cause I would have thought a dentist would have heard of it. Anyway this is the 3rd time getting it but thank god the burning pain I have is not like the other 2 times I had it. This might have happened this time with the burning not being so bad cause I have learned how to do certain things making it feel a little better like chewing sugar less trident gum. Sounds weird but it does settle it from burning so much. The 2 other times I had this it was unbearable and I still don’t know how I lived through that experience for 5 months every day until it finally went away. I took myself to emergency the 2 times I had it cause you just get to a point when you say enough is enough, the drs at the hospital need to do something for me. Even doing that back then , they couldn’t do anything for me cause they had no idea what was going on with me. They would not give me anything. They probably thought I was someone trying to fool them so I could get pain meds from them. It’s really sad but that’s where we are today regardless if this is legitimate or not , people are going to think the worst. It’s definitely the worst pain I believe a human being can go through day to day and knowing it’s probably going to happen for 5 months just like the other times. Im very lucky though cause chewing that gum has given me very little relief but that’s enough for me to be okay for now. I probably have 3 more months of this. Just going by past experiences, it should go away within that time. I will keep you updated if it actually does go away again within that timeframe. Thanks for listening and take care. 😀✌️

Have you explored what you ate recently? I know people with allergies to eggplant, for example.

It almost sounds like CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) because of the burning and the remissions. Some people have had success with that disorder with LDN, Ketamine infusions, and other treatments.
Yes, please let us know. I am sending you healing vibes.
All the best to you! It sounds awful and you are a warrior!
