Can you get SSI for chronic insomnia?

Hey I have this poor ability to sleep which really makes it hard for me to work or do much of anything really. I do occasionally get a full night's rest, but most of the time I seem to only sleep for like 2-3 hours or maybe 4 at most. And that is not enough to keep me alert all day long. I don't know why I have this problem. I think it has something to do with where I live. I live in a pretty dense neighborhood, and I think I cannot sleep with people nearby me. I know that probably sounds silly but it's true. Actually there might be more too it to that, because this all started a long time ago, and at that time I was sleeping great like a baby, and living in a house with lots of roommates which didn't bother me in the slightest. I should preface that by saying a few months prior to that I had just quit smoking and started working out and was making serious gains. But then like 3 months later someone offered me a cigarette, I told myself I was never going to smoke again but then I said hey what the hell what can one cigarette do? well that cigarette triggered some kind of malfunction in my brain, and I've been pretty messed up since then. This was over a decade ago. It definitely interferes with my ability to work or even look for work. I don't know what I should do. My parents aren't going to be around forever. Does anyone think I can claim disability based on this story? thanks,

No that will not work . if it is insmnia caused by ptsd or other such anxiety based dissorders then you have a case

hmm. Okay, I guess I will look into it. I don't have ptsd but might have some anxiety issues. I know the process to get that is pretty hard. It's not that i want to be a leach off the government, I just feel like I'm too mentally unstable to hold a job.  Thanks for your reply.

I couldn't get it for Chronic Pain Syndrome, denied twice so just said  "Screw it " and gave up. Also, I only work 20 hours a week but that put me over the limit for it. Would of had to quit all together and couldn't afford to wait 3,4 years on appeals. " It's my money and I want it NOW"!!

It depends what state you are in, some states it is much easier to claim disability than others.  In WA my sisters boyfriend claims disability for knee problems and plays on a basketball team, its insane.  You can pretty much get it for anything there, most places it is not that easy.  You might be able to claim bipolar or severe depression, there are a lot of hoops to jump through and they will put you on every free sample the drug rep has dropped off trying to turn you into a serouquel zombie along the way.  I have similar problems as you are referring to, was on disability for awhile but it just wasn't worth it and the medical care I got (pre medicaid expansion) was very poor.  Now that most states have passed medicaid expansion bills it is better medical care but you have to see real Dr.s that will try and actually fix your problems rather than throw boxes of free seroquel samples at you.

i need disability , and a good lawyer, im a total fking wreck,  i am just to lazy to type it up !
