Central Fl Pain Clinic

@hooter1 I've had the botox injections, anti-seizure, beta-blockers, Fentanyl patches, Oxy, imitrex, maxalt, Opana, actually went to a hypnotist for awhile...nothing works except one med for me, anyway and it's none of those and much more mild.  Not shooting down the botox injections as a whole, just saying that not everyone may respond to even the best treatments.

what is it that worked for you?

u know fioricet (butalbital) works great for me but they wont rx them anymore cause i need too many dr thought i was abusing them plus it knocks me out cold for a few hrs. plus if you take for a prolonged period of time you will lose all your teeth. got a screaming one right now and noting is knocking it down just got done puking. im drying for something just to knock it down a little

I might can help, but I have trust issues.  There are maybe 3 that are legitimate & open.  I'm thinking...

Well currently, the ONLY meds that work for my migraines are Fyour Set, same but with C0 Deen, and Migranal (not narcotic).

Have same problem with docs prescribing first two...oyeee

Hey all. I suffered from migraines for years and years. They put me through the paces with all kinds of drugs. Not much helped.

When I started adding magnesium supplements to my daily routine, they magically got better. I haven't had a migraine since I started taking them about 6 or 7 months ago. Sounds strange, I know, but it's working for me. Just thought I'd throw that out there. It certainly couldn't hurt.

Calcium=magnesium supplements definitely work for me.  So does coffee if you catch it when the aura starts.

Maybesomeday, how much magnesium do you take per day? I really want to try this, but need to know much to start with.  Like you I will try anything.  Many Thanks!

I'm happy to share what I've done, but I'm no doctor. This is just what worked for me. When I first started, I took a 250mg tablet morning and night. If I even felt an inkling of a headache, I'd take one right then and there.

I did this for my first two bottles. When I ran out I replaced with 250 MG and I take it once a day. I haven't had to take any extra since I dropped the dose. I'm happy with it.

If you have any loose stools you may be taking too much and need to cut back. Never happened to me but I've read it can happen. Just start slow and see how it works with your body. I hope it helps you as much as it's helped me. I feel like a different person since I started taking it.

Awesome....I have heard in my years of migraine research that magnesium does help.  Based on current success with all of you, I may just try it out...AGAIN!!

Thanks for bringing it up!!

Misery, I am skeptical about many things, but I had a ER doc that was schooled up on acupuncture place a needle between my pointing finger and thumb for a banging headache.  In my utter amazement my headache was gone.  Who knew?

Here is a recent article with many different options for migraines you might find handy.

I've read that magnesium can actually help with a lot of problems (lack of sleep, anxiety, mood, Aunt Flo pain, etc...it also helps us avoid diabetes and osteoporosis)  - it might be a good thing for many to do a little research on.

Seriously?  I really do sound like a Golden Girl in this post.  Lame.  But hopefully helpful.  Magnesium is good stuff.  Listen to MSD, she may be on to something, afterall, she is Rose.  Taking applications for Blanche - must be debaucherous...sorry, it's a job requirement.

Magnesium - the new miracle drug.

Now that you mention it, I haven't had much in the way of PMS in awhile. I just figured I was old. But it must be the magnesium!

Not making light of this, but the Aunt Flo pain around my house is called "Aunt Suzie" for some reason???

Well, it seems that I have not given "Auntie" the same respect...When she shows up at my house, I typically roll my eyes and tell her to get the hell of my property and slam the damn door...some folks just can't take a hint.

Hmm...I've never heard of 'Aunt Suzie' - although I had to Google it.  I saw that the three 'Aunts' are Flo, Suzie/Suzy/Susie and Tilly.  Actually, my favorite term is that it is Shark Week...but I thought that Aunt Flo was the most appropriate for the Magnesium post - and that some people might not understand the Shark Week reference.  /default_wink.png

I prefer Communists in the Fun House as my reference of choice.

as a RN i can tell you that u need to watch it on the mag supplements....they can act like a sedative if too much is taken (mag toxicity) very common in OB pts ....just my general xp

  1. L @ Layne_Cobain: TxID stands for transaction id
  2. J @ Jbil75yahoo: What’s TxID ?
  3. xenxra @ xenxra: thanks for being a swell guy, you earned it
  4. R @ rhodium: hello all thanks for being moved to the apporved section!
  5. P @ Poppycock: @Mammasboi123 thank you, I’m still getting the hang of using this platform. Sometimes when I try to search something it will come back with nothing or tell me what I typed in wasn’t long enough or something
  6. M @ Mammasboi123: Also, keep in mind that if a thread topic doesn’t already exist for a particular mag after searching for it, for a particular msg you’ve got questions on, you can always open a new thread under the appropriate section to get member feedback. I only mention doing it this other way due to there being a rule against members/vendors advertising or soliciting mags via the Shout Box. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets removed at some point.
  7. M @ Mammasboi123: @Poppycock, I would encourage you or any other member looking for current options for various mags to first check if an existing thread has already been created on the topic by using the Search bar found on the upper right corner of the site. For example, here’s a recent thread that was posted just a couple months ago that shows up when I type in ‘5APB’ to the search bar: https://drugbuyersguide.info/threads/4-fma-and-6-apb.11276/#post-268359.

  19. xenxra @ xenxra: @oh be g i have a 10 year track record, @CnC5 can vouch for me. intuition plus experience but don't hold me to it for 100% certainty.
