Hi folks,

How Seriously do you take your Privacy Online?

1) -  Do you Use Online Services for your Magazine Purchases?

2) -  Do you get Flying, Sleeping or Rock-Climbing essentials Online?

3) - Do you Enjoy your Freedom & Outdoor Adventures / Activities?

4) -  I think we all Know the Answer to the Above, We Also Know that Nobody

Likes LEO Much and We all hate those pesky Rats & Enclosed Spaces!

There is already a Thread or three about securing your Online Activities, so i will

just post two links so you can check for yourself how Secure you have made yourselves to Prying Eyes!

First off these Two tests are Similar and yield similar(ish) Results.

One is Automated, the other requires a small bit of input.

The First link is Do i Leak which will run some tests and present you with the results.

The Second one is BrowserLeaks which presents you with a series of tests running down the left side.

After you run the tests, feel free to fill out the Poll if you wish!

Last but not Least - Don't be Sorry,, Be Safe..   ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Regards,  T.

Thank you for your help I’ve been hacked several times I believe through my Verizon account my certification was from Amsterdam and state was New Jersey they use Siri do you know anything about Mac or Apple products I would love advice @Toker. I’ve already used my two replacement phones with Asurion and Apple Care. I go back to the Genius Bar with my new phone I have no clue why my iPhone has rotor actions and I cannot delete things in the cloud. Any help is appropriated. And no I’m using a cheap moto phone now because my iPhone is dangerous so I destroyed it and I’m going to the Genius Bar to set up my last replacement. Thank you for the links above I never knew existed! Heavenlee

@Toker thank you first link was great have so much information to tell Verizon and be safe at Genius Bar Tuesday took pictures of all results you’re my hero! Thank you so much my husband and son thought I was crazy and OCD about cell phones now I have proof! Switching now to another new cheap zte phone! I am embarrassed about how many phones this is a small portion plus I’m having Comcast change my WiFi I wish there was another service to use instead of Comcast! Thank you again!

Hi there @Heavenlee

I am happy to see that the links have shed some light on your Privacy awareness..

Regarding I-Phone's, sorry but i despise ALL apple products, not a fan at all,

so unfortunately i am unable to help you out there.

Maybe there is someone else reading this that can be of assistance to you.

Regards,  T.

@Toker you ROCK!!! When you update a security thread, I’m all over it. I’m really digging ‘Do I Leak’...apologies it’s taken me so long to tell you. I have no excuse, I forgot lol. I’ve also been testing ‘Look Out.’ Any opinions on this one?

Namaste,

Jstew318

I have used a decent anonymous VPN service for years. It's a paid for service that I use bitcoin to fund. Nothing is 100% secure. I run the same VPN clients on all my devices. Its sucks on iOS though... Most do..

Hi there @Jstew318 ,

I am glad that the thread has provided some insight on your security awareness.

Also many thanks for your kind words. The objective of this thread was / is to help people

determine what is right for them, as we all have different needs and security depending on what

we do and where we visit when online. I use darkweb sites at times so i personally need my devices

to be as 'hardened' as i can possibly make them. There is no 'one fits all' security solution because it's

based on user preferences which will vary greatly depending on the individual end user.

Regarding Lookout, it hasn't really been on my radar but after doing some reading it's a program that i

would steer you away from based on it's reviews and the company's unwillingness to participate in Security

tests run on an annual basis by trusted reviewers who have no objective on the outcome of results.

Source of the above - HERE.  Also bear in mind that a lot of company's use FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt)

to try and push there products on end users

I personally run Avast mobile security (paid version) on all my android devices and then utilise OpenVPN

when browsing which TBH is not something i would regularly do but is also inescapable at times.

As a wise man once said, "Don't be Sorry, be Safe..

@Toker that app is gone now, thank you sir. Would you suggest Avast for IOS in conjunction with OpenVPN (paid version) as well? And I only pay for the ones you sign off on lol

Hi @Jstew318 ,

Yes my friend Avast for your IOS with OpenVPN will suffice and make you Much safer than the average user needs to be.

After all most of us are not under constant Government Surveillance and as such are not the targets of the Feds top ten most wanted.. Lol..

Stay safe and take care.. 🔐

Regards..

Maybe off-topic but I also use "Shredding tools" and free space shredders along with disc encryption for further precaution.

Wow thanks for the info!  So much I should be doing.  Baby steps I guess.  So grateful to all your input.

  17. Strawhat7 @ Strawhat7: Yo, whatever happened to Mr. Black? Just got a rando email from him after ghosting me like a year and a half ago
  18. LW815 @ LW815: Know what’s really going on in somebody else’s head or how much they’re really dealing with and feel like they’re left with no other options. Been a very sad few days but 2 complete (irl anyway) strangers cared enough about what I was going through to talk to me about it, though they owe me nothing and have no reason to help my personal pain other than the kindness in their own hearts. Just shows that this place is a real community, not just a forum of people who only care about themselves.
  19. LW815 @ LW815: Was nodding in/out the entire time writing those shouts and spparently was fully out sending the last one lol. But II find it ‘uplifting’ as two people I’ve never actually met and only know the others online presence through subscriptions, who I have a better chance of getting a handy J from Jesus Christ himself, both were so quick to share their own experience and wise words and assurances that things will look up and not to feel guilty or be mad at somebody for going that route - as you never
  20. xenxra @ xenxra: @hotdog45 meh, same difference. they both got blacklisted on here. wouldn't be the first time a rogue shop sent out unsolicited comms after the fact.
