Not sure i have this in the correct place. How similar are these 2 tablets? If I'm really used to codeine but suddenly switch to tramadol will my body give out? Or are they quite similar in mechanism?
Personally I don't compare the 2, ever. Codeine makes me sleepy, relaxed, slightly euphoric and nauseous (barely to bother). Tramadol makes my head feel, numb? Or cloudy, slightly euphoric and a bit anxious. But you probably won't feel any withdraws from codeine if you take Tramadol.

They are similar, although whereas Codeine is a true opioid, Tramadol is a synthetic opioid... But they still effect the same receptors in the brain... However, Tramadol does inhibit the reputable of serotonin and norepinephrine, so it's kind of like adding an antidepressant to the mix?.. And that's the side of Tramadol that doesn't agree with everyone? It also has a much longer half life, due to it's SNRI properties...
Some people do find this helpful, as it definitely has certain mood lifting qualities, and slightly longer analgesic effects? However, I think the latter is due to the parallel SNRI properties that are also occurring... Resulting in an almost placebo like effect, of your slightly elevated mood, masking the propensity to feel your pain?
However, if you have the choice and need to be on either long term, then I'd personally stick with Codeine... You will almost certainly develop a tolerance and dependence for either, that goes without saying... But ask almost anyone which one they'd rather withdraw from and they'd definitely choose Codeine?! Tramadol withdrawals are a real motherfucker!! It's like opiate & antidepressant withdrawal, both at the same time... Quite simply, it's fucking horrible!! Give me a good old Codeine withdrawal any day ; )
Interesting info @Phrenicz, I didn't know that about Tramadol. That may explain why I've never liked it! I tend to get terrible insomnia when I take it, regardless of time taken during the day. I could take it at noon, but as soon as I try to go to bed I have extremely vivid, almost waking dreams. Kind of like daydreaming, but half asleep, and unable to fall completely asleep. It's really not pleasant at all. I recently had a doc try to prescribe Trams and I told him about this, so he prescribed codeine instead. They didn't do much for the pain, maybe a little better than acetaminophen and ibuprofen alone, but not much. No weird side effects though.
@tiquanunderwood:
Excited for someone new! And whoever gets the job should be stoked.
@tiquanunderwood:
But yeah that whole season made me want to throw up
@tiquanunderwood:
@Layne_Cobain I was pretty busy with holidays and working
@tiquanunderwood:
@Layne_Cobain I'm back! Ready for a coaching hunt! Rooting for your panthers today.
@Realbenzeyes:
Hopefully it will just be a good game. Watching TCU’s natty run was about the worst it can get. Please don’t give us another blow out 60 min lol
@Realbenzeyes:
As much as I would like to see Carson Back win a natty after all he’s been through. I just don’t see it
@Realbenzeyes:
The U isn’t stopping that offense or defense. Even if they do manage to some what dumb down that defense. The offense is just way too explosive! Fkin Indiana who would’ve known lol
M@meepmoopmeep:
Wasn’t fun watching Oregon get curb stomped in the first half but Indiana deserved the win more
M@meepmoopmeep:
I think Indiana is going to win the natty
L@Layne_Cobain:
I seriously hope our guy @tiquanunderwood didn’t take a header after that Steelers ravens game and harbaughs firing jr ain’t worth it tiquan sports drive all of us equally mad at times hope you’re chillin 😎
@Realbenzeyes:
I’m salty myself, being an Ohio state fan, but Miami is winning by the smallest margin. Indiana going to be hard to beat
M@meepmoopmeep:
I’m salty about the SEC being eliminated but good for Miami. it was a well fought game by both teams
M@meepmoopmeep:
Imagine being a 10 seed barely squeaking into the playoffs becoming a cinderella team
M@meepmoopmeep:
I think they can beat Oregon, but Indiana is too good
@Realbenzeyes:
Who thinks Miami stands a chance vs either team (Oregon or Indiana) my bet is Indiana but you never know
S@sporidicus:
delete this though, if it's the wrong place
S@sporidicus:
sorry I don't think I know what this is for. but It's the #4 edition
