So there are plenty of discussions in this area already about politics, guns, leadership and such things. But they all look like most of the comments are from a long time ago, I wanted to start a current events thread that is the opposite of a safe space lmao. anything goes, there are a ton of things happening in or world everyday from N Korea, to China, and let us not forget ISIS, and our politicians. Get in on the discussions, fighting, name calling (unless the MODS frown upon that) whatever goes let it rip and invite your friends. I'm hoping we can get a lot of people involved and get many viewpoints.

I will start off with all of the hurricanes, damn it looks like it is going to be a brutal hurricane season. There are already a couple more in the queue slowly building up out in the Atlantic ocean I read that meteorologists are saying they have never seen anything like it. My background is in emergency management so I ponder  how they are going to deal with these disasters. So far I know the response in Texas was rapid and logistically resources are already staged as close as possible to Florida as they can be without putting more people in harms way. Here is a tip I just remembered we used to tell people when giving lectures on preparedness, never let your car go more than half empty. If you always keep at least a half a tank of gas you won't be stuck with the other idiots in line at gas stations, with half a tank you can probably get a couple hundred miles away where there will be shorter lines and still hopefully be gas available.

@2earls you know people post some names and lets get a conversation rolling, it seems like so many of the convos on here are from several years ago. Lets get people talking and get them some more threads in there count.  :223_speak_no_evil:

Its already december and we are seeing the results of the hurricanes. Brutal stuff!

Wow, an amazing feat.  The first real image of a supermassive black hole at the center of a galaxy (can't remember that name of the galaxy).  I love this type of sh*t.  If your interested, just google it.  The image came out yesterday.

  1. xenxra @ xenxra: y'all
  2. D @ drdso: It's scary now fr. I'm guessing we're gonna see a lot of exit scammers for former "reputable" veteran vendors. These tariffs/supply chain issues are causing them not to receive product due to seizure/denial. At a certain point they gotta get there money somewhere. Just be careful who you buy from y'all
  3. T @ timyboy: How ya'll doin
  4. D @ dichlorodavid: Ah thanks for the clarity on the strike. I wasnt aware that this is cont'd from the 2024 strike. Hope they reach terms this time (quickly!)

  11. Alkazar @ Alkazar: Technically they were forced back to work the last time they went on strike in 2024, so this is the same strike for the same reasons in 2025.
  12. Alkazar @ Alkazar: I dont know how to direct reply to people on here. But the Canada Post strike will affect any mail coming from the US. It will be held at a facility until the striek is over. Mail that is being sent from CAD to the US will just not be picked up. It all has to be private delivery services now.
  13. Z @ zdaBa: Happy Saturday, love you all <3

  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @LW815 from my experience, CP strikes usually tend to leave the snails alone
  18. xenxra @ xenxra: I hardly knew her!
  19. C @ Callmejonah: methadone
  20. LW815 @ LW815: @Alkazar would that effect snail mail arriving to the US from CA in any impactful way?
