Energy From Pks---Which Ones?

I'm actually looking for the opposite...a PK that leaves you mellow.  Perkies do okay with pain but make me jittery.  Advice?

For me pure codeene does that for me and it's relatively cheap from iop's

Well,

i dont think we can get energy from any pain killer, because they are not meant for that purpose.

Tramadol doesn't do much for me. It actually makes me feel kindof dopy/sleepy/confused. Interestingly, percs usually give me an almost adderall like energy, but more calm. I am very social and talk more than usual. Vicodin has a similar effect, but not as much as percocet. I do find that there's a threshold of sorts. I can take up to a certain amount (usually 10 or 15 mg for percocet) and get that energy, but if I go over that amount it'll make me feel tired and loopy. If I take it correctly though it is a fantastic happy, social, melty, warm feeling. Always monitor yourself and make sure you aren't taking them too often though, because obviously that can lead to a physical addiction which would suck.

I'd say Tramadol is a good energy booster for me.

Tramadol is a funny old drug though. Most people I know take it and just want to sleep. For me it really gives me an insane energy boost but only for the first few days after a week or so break.

If I take it continuously for more than a week it loses that energetic/talkative feeling and just takes the pain away with a little lethargy.

For any folks taking it for depression, I used to find that keeping it at a very low dose is the way to go.

Another note is that the withdrawals can be awful so be careful and respect the drug. I've never really experienced anything physical but the anxiety and mental cravings can be a challenge.

Had my first experience with it (trammies)a couple of weeks ago after running low on usual PK's.

Had to go easy on them after all that I've read - so took 100 mg twice per day (once, I did three of them in 24 hours instead of two)

Mellow, relaxed, sleepy - but happier than having nothing, for sure :)   However, had to sleep 11 hours per day despite caffeine pills AND even modas...could NOT stay awake, because I tapered off codes and hydes way too quickly while waiting for next arrival.

As soon as I got codes, I was back fully awake and full of energy!!!  Even more so with a hyde row to supplement (even 2.5mgs).  So glad not to sleep constantly anymore.

I have found that the energy I get after taking my needed amount is a result of not being in pain.... feeling as close to normal as possible makes me happier and naturally gives me energy... just think about being in terrible pane all the time. its exhausting. and I feel its also why people might judge someone who needs these relieving meds because if they are properly being cared for by their dr then they can live a more normal productive life. without them they will withdraw from society and stop being social.

I remember at one time there was a study - no, I mean a website that suggested oh,peeeyates for depression.  With controls, limited amounts, exercise etc. or something like that. Of course, that would never happen in today's climate in the US.

Wow.  I started that thread a long time ago and after spending significant time away from the board, funny to see it still going.

Now that I'm a little more, umm, seasoned when it comes to use, I figured out what it is I was looking for.  For whatever reason, when I hit my mid 20s my normal energy levels plummeted.  I had everything checked.  Full metabolic panel including testosterone, thyroid, vitamin deficiencies, you name it.  Then it was suggested to me that I was depressed.  Anti-Ds did nothing except make me sick to my stomach.  Also tried Adderall and that was just way to speedy and unpleasant.

Ironically enough, watching the DJ AM documentary made something click.  He very simply said "I don't feel good when I'm not on them....".  Which made a ton of sense.  It was never a high I was chasing after.  I just wanted to feel like I imagined a normal, healthy person should.

Without getting into any of my personal business, I will say that the study Trudy mentioned has a lot of merit in my eyes.  PKs never make me feel "high", I never get all noddy-doddy like the gross junkies that populate my city, I just feel "good".  I'm not advocating this approach for anyone else because I realize it can be playing with fire for a lot of people.  That said, it DOES work for me.

I never nod on perks.

I get so much energy, I feel great..when I don' have them I feel very sore, even the bottoms of my feet hurt. I'm out for 3 days and not looking forward to it.. :(

Me too back in the day if someone offered me perks to morphine I'd go over and clean there house spotless. Nothing but a great energy booster for me. Which I would have stayed with pills they just got so damn expensive on the streets so I ended up on. Heroin which did make me nod I have shirts with cigarettes holes and burnt rugs too many to prove, anyway I've gotten rid of things that remind me of the past. @Meowtown I know exactly what your talking about. And shit the heroin tolerance was so bad I had to literally shoplift $500.00 a day because your tolerance goes up so much. Thank god im not doing it now it's playing Russian Roulette with your life by the dealers putting fentanyl and carfentynyl in it. I remember when I wanted to die, now I love being in love with life. Things sure change in a year!

I lost my baby sister to heroin about five years ago. :( she would get clean then relapse over and over.

Morphine makes me sick! But those pink and green rockseas mmmm mmm.

And yeah at $1/mg it gets fucking expensive fast. I'l get 30 and be out in 6 days @_@ blahh lol

I'm so very sorry for your loss.  That cycle of relapse is horrific from what I've read.  Like you, I don't care for Morph - it might as well be Tylenol w Kohdein imho. Nausea and no energy.  Hydies best, Perkins are second.  One dollar per MG is so much $$$, it's absurd.   Currently trying to find just codies without apap  to augment and to reduce hydies a bit. Feel guilty and grateful to get hydies at all from my MD and enraged that legit CP patients w much worse pain than mine hafta go thru so many hoops.

I have fibromyalgia and also a neurological condition where the "tonsils" in your skull, above spine, are 2cm lower than they should be and I'll get electrical like shocks in my back where its hard to move.

My feet are always freezing cold to the point they hurt to walk on. Went from being prescribed a great enough script, great meaning I had enough and didn't abuse more or anything like that then when the laws starting getting more strict my script literally went down more than 3/4 than what I was getting.

I have medical pot but it just doesnt do much for my pain.

I don't even really care for dillys either

  1. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.

  4. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  5. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  6. aBBazaBBa123 @ aBBazaBBa123: @rockychoc How do I contact you?
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
