Euthanasia

100% for euthanasia. If I had a debilitating disease or affliction, I would consider this as a viable option. Traveling abroad in order to do it would suck because I would prefer to die on my homeland’s soil. Dr. Kevorkian was way ahead of his time.

@Handsley I have come to that conclusion after deep pain and being shaken / humbled to the core. It is hard to accept, but when its at the point where someone is just continuously suffering, if they want to die but can't use their own body to do themselves in, I think it is one of the absolute kindest things you can do is to end their suffering. And if you can't keep them comfortable with whatever medications, then yeah I mean killing them. Its absolutely absurd to me that in some places you will get arrested if you express the fact that you wish to die.

They have it here in Oregon.  You can pay a Dr. to off you like a lethal injection type thing. Only if your in total misery all the time and there may be a age limit .

I know someones grandparent who did it after his wife passed . It was 60,000$.  I dont think health insurance pays for it. Thats quite a bit of dough . Your kids could use that money. I guess thats why most people do it themselves. It saves 60k.

One thing I do believe is it should not be illegal to assist eutinasia.
As in you break the law for accompanying a loved one to a clinic

Idk if anyone will read this, but I am blessed/cursed with knowledge about the other side and remember fragments about what it’s like to be dead.

It’s so much nicer than it is here.
There’s not any pain or suffering or hunger or any kind of discomfort.
You can hang out in nice places like something that resembles an inclusive tropics resort. Anything you could ever want or need is there.

there’s places for healing your soul from the trauma of earthly life and when or if you’re ready, you can choose to be reborn into a new body.

I’m sorry any of you are so sick to be considering this.
For those of you that are scared of the other side, don’t be, getting there is the worst part.

I've been living with an illness that causes daily pain and suffering for well over a decade. I take a handful of pills every day to stay alive. At any time things could go downhill and I could find out I have anywhere from a week to a couple of months to live. Or I could choose to stop my treatment and let death take me. The depression I get from this situation is crushing at times, especially when I experience setbacks in my life and living situation. Even so I'm grateful for every day I'm alive, love my life and try to enjoy every moment I can.

There's a website that I have found to be very useful. It's 'lostallhopedotcom'. There is a lot to consider. An example is liability of the people around you. Just the knowledge you were planning your own death could cause a loved one to face serious legal consequences.

i dont know you but could i aks if not too personal, what is your pain condiiton from?

i think for MOST (not ALL) life is worth lviing. i do understand that some people are born basically to suffer.

the problem is with euthanasia inevitably comes discussion about eugenics. right?

This is my take on sui cide, or euth anasia if you prefer.

Everybody and every living thing in nature wants to live. And everything is going to die. It's just a matter of time and circumstance.

An old dog in the wild one day just won't be able to get up any more and will either be attacked by something else or die of hunger or thirst, or whatever else ails it. The point is it will surely die.

We differ from other living things, I believe, in that we have a capacity that allows us to anticipate further ahead and plan accordingly. But we still don't know the future, or what we will do in such and such circumstance.

Knowing I'm going to die some day and being of a kind that doesn't want to just waste away or become dependent in an intolerable situation I have made my plans, and it's really very simple. But I had to do a lot of research, because the information is hidden away in our culture where sui cide is still taboo. Hidden but searchable.

Just knowing how to die peacefully, and having the means for if you ever need it, can set your mind at rest about the whole business, so you don't have to think about it any more, or much anyway. And when the time comes, as it does for every old dog, you might find you don't need or want the means any more.

A valuable source of reading material is annas-archive dot org - Publications are usually available in different formats, PDF's being my own fav. I use a New Private Window in Firefox but I'm always on a VPN anyway.
