Fake Endocet 10/325 (e712)?

Have there been any reports in the states of fake yellow oblong pills labeled 10-325 / E712. I ran into what appeared as a deal, from a pharmacy  but the meds just don't seem to do the trick. I guess it could always be me lol. But how easy is it for someone to actually make counterfeit medicines? And how would I be able to tell what they actually are aside from the imprint? Is there any kind of kit you can buy to test the potency or chemicals within a pill? or maybe even a more simple test?
