Fantasy Cars

Well I don't get the sarcasm, I'm old and banged too much head so I'm going to take this thread seriously.

A 1965-67 Chevy Impala SS convertible is my first choice.

After that anyone of the 60's muscle cars -  GTO, Charger, Chevelle SS, Camaro...

No reissues, they blow.

Self cleaning and dog hair repelling.  It has to be an old chevy too.

My first car was a 65 gto slapstick. My Dad purchased it for "me" when i was 13.....lol! Then.....novas, impalas, camaros.......

I must be dense because I don't get the sarcasm either.

But I do love me some muscle cars!

Chevelles and Camaros are the tops.

For fantasy maybe something rare like a Yanko Camaro.

We go to a lot of car shows and drool over anything old and shiny.

I used to want a Porsche 928 because of the movie, Risky Business, that star's Rebecca De Mornay.  I remember the "train scene", yep,   WOW!!

And then there was the Ferrari Testarossa.  From the tv series Miami Vice.  In college I used to watch it every week and think, I am going to get a Testarossa, when I get a job!!  I wanted the "red head", car.  So did everyone else in my dorm,  at the time, it was popular.

The Porsche 928 is not that great. One of the reasons they don't make it anymore, but instead have replaced it with the 911. I had a 928, up until a few years ago, then sold it to a friend of mine for a low price who just "had" to have it. Basically put, the car is just too dam heavy and pushing down the clutch when changing gears, you'd think you were driving an 18 wheeler transport truck. And I'm a BIG guy. It's also very difficult to see out of due to the positioning of the windows and the interior buttons are humungous - as if it was designed for a blind person.

I did like the front headlights which popped up and down though. But that's about it.

I really was not being sarcastic when I started this. It was serious.

Mine was one of the older thunderbirds, 2 seater, convertable. I think "55 or "56You still see two-seat 1956 Ford Thunderbirds on the boulevards of Beverly Hills, which is only fitting. Ford might have been inspired by European sports cars, but the Thunderbird ended up an all-American boulevardier convertible designed for comfort and smooth, powerful straightline performance. That the "Little Birds" were also uncommonly handsome only hastened their climb to "instant classic" status, one reason so many survive today.

The 1956 Ford Thunderbird was an instant classic, and remains so to this day.
See more pictures of classic cars.

A sturdy steel body and amenities like roll-up windows were other appealing T-Bird virtues. As proof, the debut '55 outpolled Chevrolet's fiberglass Corvette by 23 to 1 at 16,155 units. The '56 slipped to 15,631, but that was hardly bad for a specialty car in a "fall-back" sales year.

Ten most expensive cars for 2014.

You had the 928 a couple years ago????

I have not seen one on the road for almost 15 years now!

I have a BMW and will get a BMW M3 in a couple of months, want to race?

Dear @unknown1212.... I think I've made it pretty clear about 5 times now that I'm not into "racing" around in Sedans.
If I were in Higschool or the owner of a Ferrari or Lamborghini, perhaps I might consider.

But a BMW M3 is hardly considered a "racing car". Stick to the video games. Much safer and nobody gets hurts.

Hi Snowblower,

Fine, I was think about a race track so it's much safer but if you can't handle then fine.

A "race track"? Are you kidding me. Please say you are....

Honestly,my friend, I have MUCH more important things to do with my time than "race" around a track in non-race cars. What is it you wanna prove, that your future "BMW M3" is faster then my Benz (which I don't even race around)?

Ok, I'll save you the nonsense. I concede defeat. The "Yellow Jersey" is yours for the taking. Viva La Paris. Pop the champagne  /default_tongue.png

My Benz is shit. Your BMW's are bleepin' awesome. Just keep reminding yourself and EVERYONE on this board, and the title of this thread just might come true, if enough Pixy dust is chucked around..
