Fighting Fibro

I have found that Kratom helps me during a flare. Red is suppose to help inflammation but I'm an opposite and white helps me
I just got diagnosed with Fibro a couple of months ago, I kind of had a thought that I might have it. My mom has had it and Lupus for many years so I am familiar with Fibro. To make it even more fun for the last three years I have been dealing with arthritis in my back and both hips, faciitis  in my feet, and recently tendonitis in my right shoulder. The fibro is mostly  in my upper body, neck, arms, hands and upper back. The problem is there are so many different types of pain its hard to tell what is actually causing pain in specific body parts. For example I think my problem with my shoulder is enhanced or increased because of my fibro but there is no way to tell. And Dr's suck so I'm just getting used to suffering all the time but sometimes it makes you want to lose your mind, there are days I just wish someone would shoot me like a wounded horse. LMAO

I have skin rashes that pop up when I have a fibro attack. I had a rash start on my hip about two weeks ago and I have noticed my feet are so damn ice cold to the touch that they hurt so bad.

I can wear three pairs of socks and stand on the heating pad for hours at a time yet they are still so cold and painful.

And other times my rib cage hurts, like I got punched in the side or something. Sucks.

Im so glad Im not alone and going crazy.  Im in my 4th year of the diagnosis. They changed everything about my medicine and now I'm without pain meds and suffer horribly from pain.  The Gaba,  Cym and Robatin don't do anything for pain.  I'm also a migraine sufferer.  So I'm miserable daily.  So glad I found this group though.  Im in good company.

My heart goes out to all of you who suffer from any type of chronic pain or any type of disability. There is a need to have somewhere where we can share our problems and not be judged or labeled and dismissed as "pill seekers".

Woe to anyone who has a malady that only responds to pain killers or benzos. Most doctors would prefer for us to suffer and lose our quality of life over prescribing these meds.

I've been prescribed the same meds as you @Nikkemo64along with many more. I wonder if they actually work for anyone or if it just makes the doctor look like they are trying to treat you?

To @aarons and @Meowtown and all of our members; I hope you have only good days for the holiday season and a better new year.

for me before I had the fibro I had chronic pain from the military and a back injury that I received on duty. For the pain they wanted to give me everything but opiates, I think I have had every muscle relaxer and anti-inflamatory known to man kind and even a couple of different types of nerve pain meds. Non of them work. And not only do the opiates work for my pain, they level  me out. I don't need huge doses but I find that they help with my anxiety even better than my antidepressants. Now that I have fibro on top of all of this its just a nightmare. I am lucky that the Fibro is mostly held in check by meds but i had a case of the fibro flu a couple of weeks ago and that was brutal. Anyway I forgot my point, lmao. have a good day everybody.

Lol @aarons I think your point was that doctors throw meds that are not even intended to fix your problems at you rather than do the unthinkable and prescribe opiates.

I have a back and neck injury that I have dealt with all my life from an accident when I was only 18. Now I am getting arthritis which is pretty unpleasant, but not as bad as fibro from what I hear about it.

It sounds like fibro has a lot of different symptoms or maybe I should say types of pain? I'm interested in learning more about it if anyone ever needs to vent.

I don't post much always just read, read, reading but I'm feeling so miserable and needed to vent.

I suffer badly from fibro like many of you. I am still able to work but just barely get by. I spend pretty much all of my time outside of work propped up in bed. I try to do chores and I can get about 20 minutes before I can no longer stand. I have tried all the standard protocol stuff like lyrica, gabapentin and various antidepressants (I'm completely intolerant of every SSRI I've ever tried). Pretty sure all of that shit is just snake oil. Again, probably like many of you, I can only manage a semi productive life while taking opioids.

I should've known better especially this time of year but I waited too long and I let the holiday season totally screw me over, so no meds for me right now.

I have to go back to work in a few days and I am in no way ready to do that. I've accomplished absolutely nothing in the nearly 2 weeks that I've had off. The idea of going to work after nothing but misery for days just feels so raw. I've even developed a new pain in my elbow that is just so nasty, I can barely lift or twist my arm.

Feeling so hopeless and I want 2018 to go fuck its self!

@aarons yes exactly.  I also have migraines that only respond to opiates.  Ive had migraines for 33 years now.  I know what works for me.  Doctors would rather me overdose on benadryl and Tylenol, then prescribe what truely works for me.  One doctor started pulling up articles about overdoses.

  1. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  3. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  4. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  5. aBBazaBBa123 @ aBBazaBBa123: @rockychoc How do I contact you?
  6. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  7. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  8. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  9. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  10. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  12. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  15. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  16. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  17. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  18. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  19. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
  20. Alkazar @ Alkazar: It is INSANE how doctors treat tax paying hard working people like criminals when they ask for opioids. This world just keeps getting more and more backwards. But thanks to this site to be able to find people to help when no one in the medical world will.
