FRAUD ALERT – EMAIL IMPERSONATION SCAM





I was recently targeted by a scammer pretending to be a legitimate seller. The fake email was nearly identical to the real one — just a single letter was different.





How it worked:

1. They offered “freebies” to gain trust (Attachment 1).
2. They asked me to send Bitcoin to a wallet (Attachment 2).
3. They later claimed my order was “doubled” and pressured me to send more (Attachment 3).

I lost $200 before realizing what had happened.





Key Warning Signs:

• Slightly altered email address
• Awkward grammar and spelling
• Demands for crypto payment
• Pressure tactics and fake “mistakes”

Advice: Double-check every character in an email. Never send money by crypto to someone you’re not 100% sure about. Scammers thrive on urgency and small details that slip past us.
