Hello everyone,

I registered here back in August, but hadn't got around to posting here yet.

My name is Vakaras. I'm in my mid-30s and live in the west of continental Europe.

Back in the second half of the 2000s, I was a member of the DB forum and used it every now and then. I stopped coming there when I no longer had a need for certain medications.

Now that I am again in need of some, the process of obtaining them seems more difficult than it used to be, what with the forum being shut down and the darknet now being the main place to get them. I tried to navigate the darknet, but found it too complicated and dangerous. It was a relief when I ultimately stumbled upon this forum, which appears to be the successor of the old forum. I know that the clearweb has its own disadvantages, but at least this place seems more safe, accessible and organised than that what I have seen of the darknet so far. Thank you for making this place happen!

All of you seem to have a warm community going on here and I look forward to participating a little bit, even though it probably won't be often.

Thank you for reading this and I wish everyone well in the trying times that the pandemic has brought upon us.

Hello! Welcome to the forum, friend!
I’ve only been on the forum a short while now, but I agree it has a special warmth and a loving community energy often missing from other forums of this nature.
If you’re still having trouble finding access to your medication, it might benefit you to become a sponsor of the forum by donating a small yearly bitcoin feee. This opens up a portion of the forum which, in my experience, contain the majority of useful info to be found on here.
love and wellness to you!!!

Hi Veggieragz, thank you for the kind words and advice! I have read about donating to the forum and would like to do that at some point, but first I should educate myself on Bitcoins. Never had a need for them until now, and back in the 2000s they didn't exist yet so I primarily used one of the well-known money transfer services. I hope I will be able to get the hang of Bitcoins soon!

The warm atmosphere that arises from the positive community energy here is indeed uncommon these days. Not just in this part of the Internet, but pretty much all of the Internet (due to things like social media and the increased commercialisation of the Internet). I really long for the days of old sometimes, when forums and Yahoo! Groups were the main places for people to congregate. Such places were designed for forming small but close-knit communities, unlike the social media platforms of today - they are designed for superficial mass consumption. Unfortunately, their popularity and culture has also negatively influenced the rest of the Internet - which is why warmth is hard to find on-line these days. Luckily, this forum is one of the exceptions to today's norm and I'm glad to have found it! It makes me feel safer as well, as that kind of warmth inspires and attracts caring and reliability - which is always important, but especially when it comes to the sort of topic that this forum is dedicated to. Things can already be dangerous enough as it is there!

All right, I'm talking too much (social anxiety) so I better zip my lips now. Take care, I hope you had a good weekend despite the preventative measures for the pandemic!

Hello Vakaras!  Good observation, this community rocks!  That all starts with the fantastic Admin, mods, and staff here.  Standup people from what I've seen.  And don't sweat the bitcoin, it is not as complex as it seems.  After most people figure out how to obtain and send/receive, they realize how simple it can be.  I find myself using it more than cc or paypal these days.

But welcome to the community!

@Vakaras lol this part of the forum is one of multiple areas on the site in which rambling is totally cool!! Also, I hear you,  Btc can definitely be a hassle to get set up, but like Scotty said, so worth it

If you’re able to acquire these apps on a laptop or smartphone, I would suggest downloading cash app and and a blockchain wallet. You can buy btc on cash app with a debit card, transfer the coins to your block chain wallet, and then safely and happily spend btc from there.

p.s. I’m no btc expert, so others might have easier/safer ideas for how to handle your btc. Anyway, there’s a forum on the subject right here on the site for further guidance.

love to you!

@Scottydoesntknow Thank you for the warm welcome! I haven't come into contact with any of the staff yet, but have already noticed in posts across the forum how helpful and patient they are. You're right that it all starts with them, through their example as the fundaments of the forum. As for Bitcoin: sending and receiving them doesn't seem to be that difficult, it reminds me somewhat of using my bank's electronic banking facilities. It's obtaining them that seems to be the tricky part, at least if you wish to do so without getting it connected to your bank account in any way whatsoever. Bitcoin ATMs seem to be the most privacy-friendly way, but the nearest ATMs are a 2-hour train ride away from me. I might just go and do that, though it would have to wait until the preventive measures against the novel coronavirus are relaxed in my country. So essentially, my choice here is: cheapness & convenience (but less privacy) of obtaining Bitcoins on-line OR inconvenience and expensiveness of waiting and travelling (but more privacy). I think I'll wait for now, but it remains to be seen for how long.

@veggieragz Thank you for the tips! At the moment I'm considering BRD (previously known as Bread Wallet) for a blockchain wallet. It's not as secure as the cold wallets provided by Ledger and Trezor, because it's a hot wallet and one that is designed for smartphones at that. But for a beginner like myself (who probably will be using Bitcoin sporadically at first), it seems like it might be a good place to start. I could always move on to bigger and better later on, when I have become more familiar and secure with using Bitcoin. But well, we'll see - there is still a lot of reading to do before I start making any final decisions!

@Vakaras

sounds like a good plan!
I only recommend cash app because their fees are much lower than the last time I used brd, but I haven’t checked up in a while!
Happy you’re here and happy researching!

  20. L @ LW815: I’d say it’s fair enough game to discuss whatever you wanna discuss(within the rules ofc) and if people don’t like it oh well. It’s not like the shoutbox is constantly popping off with other discussion lol
