Good Faith Dispensing at Walgreens

Thanks for posting!  Seems like every large chain has certain posted "guidelines" that aren't necessarily consistent!

I think things like this are causing the opioid crises. The harder they make it to get them legally is probably what makes patients turn around and buy something unsafe.

I live in a small town but we do have 6 pharmacies here.  One of our pharmacies had a pharmacist who would dispense meds before Dr's called in the refills, who would give you opiates and relaxers if you needed them.  I never knew this was going on until one of my prescriptions hadn't been called in yet and he offered to give me a handful of perks until it was.

This was only 2 yrs ago and lets just say I was too shocked to say yes.  What a ding dong I was but I just couldn't do that.  Turns out many, many people enjoyed this service I've learned.  And of course this pharmacist now resides in a place where I'm sure he wishes he had all those meds at his disposal.  If I had to where pajamas and rubber flip flops all day I would want to be high too!!

I always thought his eyes looked super crazy at times!

  11. xenxra @ xenxra: @Poppycock i can't recall if this popped up when I did my order however it's letting me bypass that section of checkout by just toggling "None" on the 3 marked checkboxes. Worst case scenario they just refund you after checkout. I would just try that if you really need it for medical purposes. My gut is telling me this is what I had to do but like I said, i can't recall 100%
  12. T @ timyboy: Fax?? geeesh are they still living in the 80s there
  13. P @ Poppycock: @xenxra thanks but when I get to the checkout section there’s a “medical history” section and there’s a line that says “fax or email your prescription to us”. Are they just putting that there to protect themselves? Or have their changed to now require prescription?
