I'm really hoping that someone will take the time to help me out with an answer here! I'm quite concerned! I have been going through a lot recently ( my son has seizures at times and other serious medical issues, long story) and I have increased my dosage for the past two weeks a significant amount… I am concerned because although I have been decreasing my dose for the past few days I go in and see my doctor in five days. My doctor sends my UA screens to a very advanced lab. Do they test for Kpin levels at such a lab? From the research I have done, I believe they do. And they do test for clonazepam, I have heard rumors that it does not come up on a UA screen but that is not the case with my doctor and the lab he uses. I've been on this medication for over a decade, I've never had to worry about it before… But now I'm nervous. Someone mentioned something about a particular SSRI working well for anxiety? I don't remember everything that my doctor has given me, I know that he has tried an SSRI, a beta blocker and a few others. If anyone has any information on a medication that would help with anxiety and panic attacks it would be greatly appreciated. I'm with a new hard-ass doctor and I know that his end goal is to detox me completely. My dose has been decreased every other month and it's getting down to being such a low dose that I ended up here on this forum just to get by. I was dropped from 3 mg per day to .5 per day in a matter of a few months after being on the same dose for a very long time. If there is something else that I can take that would help with my symptoms, I would be all for trying it. I also know that I am going to have to go through a process of detox… I'm not too excited about that prospect. I don't think anything can help with that process but tapering and toughing it out. I have been decreasing on my other medication, suboxone, for the past year and I'm down to about 1/8 of the dose that I was on a year ago. I'm getting close to being off… I greatly look forward to that day. Once I am finally free of the Suboxone, I'll be able to get anti-anxiety medication without a doctor freaking out about the drug interaction issue.
But back to my original question, does anyone have any information on how accurate and intensive labs are when looking at drug levels such as clonezepam? Will five or six days at my normal dose (or close) be enough to give me a regular (or close) UA result? If it's a little bit high, it's fine… I just don't want to get some crazy result that makes it look like I've been taking a crapload of this medication. Which, to be honest, for about 2 weeks I took quite a bit! The funny thing is, it didn't even seem to help… I thought it would, but it didn't seem to lessen my anxiety as much as I thought it would when I took extra. It did turn me into a moody witch! I was shocked about that. I think all I ended up doing was increasing my tolerance. Lesson learned! Any info would be appreciated on the subject. Thank you!
PS- and I know this is a stupid question, but clonazepam is all the same, correct? Regardless of brand or origin, the drug is the same ingredient wise. US generic has the same ingredients as Roche Kpins… Correct? I have never taken anything except for my prescribed medication before, so I figured better safe than sorry and I would ask.
Excuse any typos!
