I Beat severe Covid-19 AMA

Thankfully I've never had the symptoms, and I feel very lucky to have gotten away with it. I car share with 3 other people to get to work. In the front sits the driver, with another guy in the passenger  seat. I sit in the back, with this girl.

Recently, the girl that sits next to me in the back got COVID-19. Couple of days later, the guy that sits in the front passenger seat also comes down with it. Because I shared a small condensed space with 2 people who tested positive for it, I rang 119 (UK) and they asked me a bunch of questions. As I had no symptoms myself, but had been in contact with 2 people who tested positive, I had no option but to isolate for 2 weeks. I had plenty of holidays to use at work so I put those in rather than stand sick money. So I got 2 weeks off, and only needed to ring 119 again if I started feeling any symptoms, which I didn't.

And now I'm back at work as normal.

So it seems that I am either very lucky and don't get affected by this virus, or I got really really lucky by not getting it even though I possibly could. I'm pretty careful with my face mask and sanitizer, so maybe that helped.

To the rest of you, I wish you nothing but good luck and hope you manage to stay safe.

Peace.

I am in middle age. Got it for three weeks.  No fever so I didn't think I had it.  I have had prior heart  issues so I thought it was a flare-up.  I had very high blood pressure, which has since come down.  Usually when I have a flare-up, it doesn't just start and go away.  I usually end up in the hospital when it's that bad and have to get IV and heart shocked to put it back.  But after 3 weeks or so, started to feel better. I had aches, pains (not the chronic type I always have, but on top of that), fatigue so bad I could not get out of bed.  Since no fever, they told me not to come unless breathing was bad.  I had to sleep on one side and my body would wake myself up not being able to breathe and I'd turn over.  I've had 2 negative tests now so I am over it and afterwards felt strangely great and energetic, but that could be psychological.  I feel so sorry for people even older than myself who suffer alone and have no one to help them.  Virtual hugs to all of you.  I miss the real hugs so much.  By the way, I have found if you have a business, no one understands how long this can go on.  In my experience, if I couldn't get my work done, people were unsympathetic and downright mean while I laid in bed and hoped it would not get worse and I would wind up in the hospital alone and die alone.   Sick and tired with the fakeness that government and anyone other than first responders care about this.   In these months, my dreams  for future have turned to desolation and nightmares.  I have had nightmares and heightened anxiety for months.  I am sure I'm not the only one and that's what keeps me going.  Good luck to all of you.  Try not to take chances.  It's not worth it.

@Handsley I’m so sorry to hear about this. Although I haven’t had it that know of as I had some illnesses here and there as of late, I can empathize with you and hate that you feel/felt like that as it sounds awful. I’m glad that you’re feeling better. My brother in law has it and he is my age, mid 30s, and it’s pretty bad. My wife and I take full precautions daily, and yet I fear  it deeply and have much anxiety and worry. So yes, I hope you can take some solace that you’re not the only one. I cannot understand others who not only don’t care enough to protect themselves, but for others to take precautions. It’s no joke.  Over 3,000 people in the USA died today from COVID-19.

I hope you continue healing. Not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. Good luck and nothing but well wishes and positivity to you.

  1. D @ drdrizzy13: i mean I don't think it should be a free for all and they legalize everything. But I do see where you are coming from.
  2. shoutback @ shoutback: I'm just having passionate discussion on an important topic for this site. Not angry :) 😀
  3. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: @shoutback I said I'm not for scheduling. No need to get so angry at me :)
  4. shoutback @ shoutback: There they go, thanks.
  5. shoutback @ shoutback: Why do some people's messages get flooded on here? It hides others discussions and spouses discourse. @Admin can you please look into that? Thank you ahead of time
  6. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Nevermind. Seems to be working now kind of lol.
  7. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: @Admin I cleared my inbox but apprently people cannot DM me still. Any help would be awesome. I can DM certain people but not others. Weird.
  8. shoutback @ shoutback: Again sorry for the typos but I think my point comes across
  9. shoutback @ shoutback: We should have the same restrictictions on alcohol and cigarettes which kill exponentially more and have much more deletirious effects on society. Sorry for my typos but this should not be a platform where we normalize the vilification on certain substances. It just gives bad people an excuse to kick diwn suffering people's dogs down and cause irreparable trauma. End stop
  10. shoutback @ shoutback: I use clobro in a safe and sane matter. Just because others have issues understanding the dose makes the medicine that should have no bearing on my ability to access medicine i find helpful. I should not have to institutionalized for treating my own treatment resistant symptoms because joe blow can't handle it.
  11. shoutback @ shoutback: Then that man needs to take responsibility for their own actions it should not put restrictions on any of my behaviors. All prohibition models do not only harm individual addicts but society as a whole.
  12. D @ drdrizzy13: I agree in principle but sometimes a grown man is putting something in their own body and it harms their communitiy, family, etc..
  13. shoutback @ shoutback: No grown man should tell another grown man what they can put in their own bodies. FULL FUCKING STOP
  14. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Just gonna make something worse.
  15. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Hopefully that puts clobro under the analogue act. That shit has created a bunch of bar demons. But I'm not for scheduling overall.
  16. JackBasquiat @ JackBasquiat: January 14, 2026, bromazolam will be placed into Schedule 1. - Also says banned in UK
