So scared today. I had 10 xanax bars in a container, inside a pillow case. My husband comes in and says Gin (our cat) had this in her mouth. It was 1/4 of a bar. I find a hole in my pillowcase she chewed, and 5 bars missing. I was SO SO SCARED. I've caught her with xans in her mouth before, just carrying them, and was lucky enough to pull it out of the tip of her mouth. I kept a close close eye on her for HOURS afterwards. Nothing. Then hubby found another piece in the washing tub drain. I think she was picking them up, carrying them over and jumping on the washer, then dropping them in the drain. Ive NEVER experienced anything like this with my other 2 cats. So weird.

I had just found my 18 year old passed the other night from a sudden heart attack, or stroke. That was heartbreaking. If I would have lost the baby because she chewed threw my pillowcase, found my pill case opened it and ate 10 mgs, I dont think I could have ever forgiven myself...

Its been 6 hours, shes thankfully her normal self. Im out 10 days of meds, which really sucks because my Generalized Anxiety is awful.. And I dont think my doctor would believe this story. Its going to be a rough week. I know it could have been much worse. No more leaving them there!

I'm wondering uf anyone else has a similar story? Please share!

Sorry no I haven't - with benzos. But I have 4 kitties and and one of them did get a hold of an 80mg OP that I dropped on the floor without noticing. Thankfully my kitty was carrying it in her mouth and dropped it in the floor and I happened to notice.  Some of the protecting coating was damp and part of the 80/0p was smudged off. It was nice getting that pill back but completely scared the shit out of me. I'm trying to be more careful but that's not the first time I've accidentally dropped pills around the house. I also could never forgive myself if anything bad ever happened.

I have my cat and a dog who licked a Xanax bar  off  the floor each. Two days later I dropped Two halfs of a 30 MG oxy and they licked it up quick as fuck. Lets just say they felt good those few days lol. But they lived!

Oh that would have been terrifying. Im convinced my cat has PICA. She was a rescue, but her foster never mentioned anything about it. It just seems like she likes to eat anything she shouldnt. Coins, stickers, small pieces of paper, and pills. Especially xanax, but its entirely possible that is just because thats what I take. Ive never caught her with a prilosec or anything like that though. I am close to buying a lockbox so that I can take what I need over the open box and any that may fall will do so in the box, not in the carpet. I try to keep them in my dresser but between my husband and myself, sometimes they get dropped. We dont have kids, and my previous cats couldnt have cared less, so it had never been an issue before. Crazy animals.... But we love em!

Yea one or two mgs wouldnt have worried me so much, but at first I was missing 10mgs. In a 6 lb cat that terrified me. Im assuming she thought it was entertaining to pick them up and watch them go down the laundry tub drain. Im so glad she's ok. My xanax.. Not so much. I still cant figure out why she chewed thru the pillow case, then opened the container to get to them. She's a crafty pain in the butt sometimes!

  1. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  4. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  5. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  6. aBBazaBBa123 @ aBBazaBBa123: @rockychoc How do I contact you?
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
