Knowing how bit coin buy

When buying BC amount in £ from a vendor for example you don't get what the BC exchange says you should get for your £. So how do you work out how many £ to spend, so you give the correct amount to your vendor to buy goods?

@Conceited you can use a bitcoin calculator, google will give you a choice of sites if say the vendor wants £100 or $100 simply put the currency amount in the calculator and it will give you the bitcoin price. For example £100 at current bitcoin rate is 0.021 bitcoins. Where 1 bitcoin is currently trading at £4765.70 per coin.

What I ment was do bit coin take  a cut out of every £. Or take there cut from the overall amount of £

Brand new to bitcoin. And ended up using coinbase to buy. Then transfer to Edge wallet. Can someone tell me if this is a safe way to exchange since I am flying blind here? Thanks in aadvance

Good question I put small amout in one wallet and its still pending 4 days now. Tried another wallet and still got no bit coin. Makes me scared to do £££ in case I lose it all. Found it easier to  use  the bit coin shop wallet to pay for donation and that didn't go well the first attempt.

But read not to use bit coin shop wallet because they can cancel trades.

Conceited, what do you mean pending for four days? The BTC is not at your wallet address? That is, you deposited to coinbase, sent to an address in your wallet, and you see nothing? That does not seem possible. Small amounts are low priority for miners, but 4 days seems too long. What wallet?

Yeah im stll waiting for my pending BC transfer. Electrum is one  wallet im using so far. That's taken ages to pend.

Thanks. Mine went right through with edge. In a matter of seconds so I am sticking with it.

It that a mobile app edge. I had luck with the BRD app going through quick. But the thing is you can't copy and paste BC wallet code. You got the tedious task of writing wallet code. But at least my money is there, or should i say BC
