Magic Jack, It Really Works!

I have been using MJ since 2007. Then onto MJ+ last december. My only issue is every 1hour 30min the call drops. ALWAYS. Well that and there is issue when too many computers on the network using bandwidth, then there is at time issues with the recieving end hearing my voice. Yeah, I spend over hour and half on phone calls constantly. /default_blink.png Like a lil girl. Oh well.

I am not sure people understand. 30 a YEAR not month. ITs huge savings.

I would recommend wait and see whats to unveil with the new MJ coming out here shortly with the SDIO card slot and wireless. I have some theories what will be next, I am excited to see whats up with it.

I DO HOWEVER suggest anyone with an android and a wireless network, can just install GrooveIP and Google Voice sign in on your GV and get free VOIP. Forget paying for anything if you can get it for free. I've been using GrooveIP (free version) for couple years. The MJ is for the house so everyone can have phone to use.

Actually becuase GV and GIP I dont even pay for cell services anymore. I hop on open wireless networks everywhere I go. And if someone cant wait to connect with me between here and the next open network, pffft. We didnt even have cell when I was a kid unless you were a baller and the phone was half the size the car. =D

Anyhow thats my two cents, not that anyone asked.

OH and linux for the win - just sayin /default_ph34r.png

I have used Ooma for a while. Another voip. Better quality than my at&t service was and no bandwidth issues. Just pay for fcc taxes in your area. (Mines like 3 bucks a month) but there is a startup cost associated $100 or so if you look around.

If you use their phonesets they have the ability to multiplex two calls on the same line. It's weird. You get two phone numbers automatically but no extra line is ran. The base handles the appropriate call with the appropriate hand set. Neat shit.

if not for the dropped calls and call quality issues I would have got an MJ+ a while ago.   Think about it.   Just power and Internet needed.  I wouldn't use it for business or something where reliability or quality is a must.  To add a quick phone line its a quick and dirty solution to get up and running quickly.
