Makes You Smile...

I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life...

Thanks!

Thanks for the quote from Lester Burnham I only quoted there is so much Beauty in the world, I should have finished the entire quote because it is one that I always remember when I'm having a dark or bad day! Thanks for updating the original, it's so beautiful!

And KK loved your post, I can make myself feel sorry for myself because of events in the past. You will never find true happiness until you let go of the past because we only have today and tomorrow is never promised! Thank you for that reminder! Another quote goes on my PC wall! Damn you guys are good, I have one entire wall covered with things written by my fellow db members, we have a bunch of quite intelligent people here. Take the great stuff and throw the bullshit away!

U rock kk, and happy? Being alive, having great friends here, watching my son sleep, watching less fortunate people get a break and watching others recover from this horrible disease of addiction!

I don't know if its due to me being a mother to a little human or having a couple really loyal dogs or coming from a military family, but:

Those videos on Youtube where the soldier is reunited with their kids and/or dogs.  Has me in tears each time to witness such pure joy!   /default_wub.png

One more thing, my cat Sophia is so bad, I'm trimming and collected a bunch of kief, sat it in a jar on the table after collecting from my trim bin, damn if two seconds later she took her paw and knocked it over into the carpet! She's a weed thief!

It made me smile today to be outside on such a beautiful late summer day. I worked in my perennial garden & it was so enjoyable to be among all the pretty flowers. I saw Goldfinches & hummingbirds today too.

It also makes me smile that I have reconnected with so many friends from pr here & that we've been welcomed warmly here at DBGF by the members.

My male Siamese cat carrying lightly in the grip of it's mouth a hungry malnutrition baby homeless kitten into our house and placing the stray kitten at my cat's food dish. Then protecting the kitten from the killer "King" homeless cat (beast) who gets pleasure from trying to scratch the eyes out of my cat, as well bring to death numerous cats and kittens in our neighbourhood.

Just a matter of time before I hit that beast with my slingshot.

Does that make you smile? Maybe not the last sentence. But oh well.

I have 2 dogs, one is part terrier & the other is a little Maltese. What made me really smile this morning was watching them chasing the wild bunnies that are all over my lawn in the mornings. My terrier has such short little legs, it was so funny watching him running up to the bunny but I think he was too scared to do anything to the bunnies. Which I'm glad to know he wouldn't hurt them. But being a terrier I believe it's in his nature to hunt.

What made me smile this morning was coffee! I don't usually indulge but my husband made it -- and it was strong and delicious!!

OMG!!  I just saw that we can now "like posts" .This is a fantastic gift.  Thank you to the powers that be!

  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: Technically they were forced back to work the last time they went on strike in 2024, so this is the same strike for the same reasons in 2025.
  9. Alkazar @ Alkazar: I dont know how to direct reply to people on here. But the Canada Post strike will affect any mail coming from the US. It will be held at a facility until the striek is over. Mail that is being sent from CAD to the US will just not be picked up. It all has to be private delivery services now.
