My friend to help w pain she gave me 2o MG of M£@DoN€. But not effects will that stuff help w pain at all? I was in a bad accident.

@US Army Veteran at the methadone clinic I went to they started all patients out at 30 mg no matter what and you could go up I believe 10 mgs everyday could have been up to every other day. But you could tell the real heroin addicts from the regular user taking too many vikes. They would be falling asleep in line while the heroin addicts were still sick. It's so addictive and the private clinics are expensive I don't want you to stay on it very long. What about a muscle relaxer Val's worked great and helped me sleep through the pain. If you do you'll end up being a client. Beware of the Iron Hand! Hope for a speedy recovery!

I was on it for almost 7 years.  Just don't start with it.  Not worth it.

Just need something for an MVA IM DOW WITH HEALTHCARE HERE IN AMERICA. All DBG from here on out.

There must be a better way. Methadone sounds like a prison.
The advantage (if one can call it that) is stability, predictability, knowing you will not run out, putting that whole "running" portion of the life out of your mind.  But you nailed it PTFC - prison.  It is absolutely hell to get off of.  At various points, I've detoxed from Oxy, Opana, Xanax, Subutex, and methadone.  Certainly all some of the worst things to get off of but methadone just sits in your bones for so long that the detox seems endless.  I think part of the reason I was on it for so long (6+ years) was that I got it from a pain management specialist for pain (which is legal).  It's the only way to legally get a script without going to a clinic and getting "the drink."  I think if I had to do the latter and go every day, etc. I would not have stuck with it so long.  It was just too easy to get my monthly script.  Problem was I would always take more than Rx'd and then I'd have to supplement.  The whole thing is just a nightmare.  So not worth it.

Amen

@rocketman it is seriously a prison. I went totally loco coming off it. I don't have hardly any recall except my husband laughs that I was going for three days to change to suboxone another prison. Anyway I must have been out of it. The police were called twice because of me screaming and they got there I told them to fuck off and take me to jail. I must admit they were awesome they just wanted to see if I would come downstairs to make sure I was okay. They didn't take me to jail and were so supportive I can't believe I told them to fuck off and didn't go to jail but I think when you're a female and I was a lot younger they gave me a ton of breaks that they wouldn't give a man. Looking back in the long run I might have gotten clean sooner if the police would have done something instead of turning their heads.

My mother who was on done 40 mg wafers had once given me 10 mg for surgery I had out-of the city and stupidly left my medication at my dorm. I was extremely opi. naive so  that 10 mg sent stars circling my head. I feel like i was floating. The trip lasted soooooo long it was insane. I could see people getting very addicted. My mom now is done free but replaced it with alcohol

Never forget the first time I took it.  Was very much NOT opi. naive and was Rx'd one 40 wafer/day - loved it so took another an hour later and almost OD'd.  Burned my fingers with matches sitting in bed so that I would not pass out.

Just don't even mess with the dones... I was on it for 5 years, it's 10 times harder to get off than anything else that I've ever tried, H, oc , vic, perkie and basically any other opie.. it just stays in your bones for months, I was sick as hell for over a month once I finally got off it, never again I told myself, it's way better being sick for a few days n doing anything else from my experience

Yea it was in tablet form. I didn't find it helped much with pain so that's probably a good thing!

One time I was on suboxone and it was the worse. I had to beg the docs to take me off until I finally just took myself off of it. It was a nightmare. I was definitely not in control. I didn't like any part of it. It was a dark cloud over my head for the week or two I took it and the cloud came with the very first dose.

@rocketman and everyone else, I can totallly relate to falling asleep on methadone all the time especially when combined with benzos. I'd go out and my bed had burns all over it, the rugs, every damn piece of clothing so glad those days are gone. I had a roomie onetime and he would wake up from a nod and literally splash his coffee on the ceiling. I still don't know how he did that. He eventually succumbed to it and xanax. I had to leave his place literally with no where to go because fires were a weekly norm at his place.

Holy crap I'm glad they didn't do anything for me! The lord may have spared me from a dark path. I would have never known if it wasn't for y'all. Thanks everybody!

Not Proud To Say It But 15 yrs of Heavy oxy ( 10 to 15 80s day) or H use. And those where the worst feeling in world when I quit for 6 months 1 time and 18 another. But when I went on Self service mdone to save on money I was just a lazy lump on a log. It took all ambitions and I lost job of 20 yrs. I also can deff tell you they are right when they say it rurns ur teeth quick as F@çķ. I started having dental uses in just 6 months and I stayed on it for 5 yrs till I got a friend on subs to help me slowly get on right path. Now I'm 4 yrs on subs and admit to taking breaks to dabble in OC's and other rx every so often. But quiting mdone was hardest thing ever. I'd take quiting doing h ( nasal never IV) any day of week. Mdone is a synthetic pain medication that is designed to hook you and keep you. Have friends who are 25 plus yrs @ clinic after being told they were on 6 month plan to get off from start.

STAY AWAY FROM IT FOR PAIN. PLEASE

Nothing but horror stories. I really appreciate the input!

  1. xenxra @ xenxra: @WTF7218 it may as well be that way with how little effort some of the people on here make to find information that's exactly where you would expect it to be.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  4. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  5. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  6. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
